The Doctor and Rose. But not quite how it should be.
The first month, Rose hated them both. The Doctor and his clone. She was so sure, so desperately sure that the real Doctor would come back for her that she ignored everything else. Her mother's sleepless nights, her father's tired eyes, the clone's broken heart.
But after a month, she decided that he'd given up on her. So she went back to the clone, who clung to her desperately. She was, quite literally, all he had, after all.
Without the adrenaline of constant danger to cloud his judgement and make the good things seem so much better, the clone, the Doctor began to see things.
It started small. Little annoyances that he'd never noticed before: the way she 'forgot' about the time she wasn't there for him, for her family; how clingy and demanding she was, on occasion; the superiority; the way that she thought she could get away with anything, because he loved her.
They fought often, but it always ended up with the Doctor coming back to her, apologising. It was the Donna in him, he said, and it was true; but Donna had always had more common sense than him, more brutal but needed honesty.
So when he told her that there needed to be some changes, or at least some discussions, the Donna in him wasn't surprised when she kicked him out. Heartbroken and very, very alone, he went back to the Tyler Mansion, and found that Jackie and Pete were willing to help. It was hard, getting a job, living the domestic life; the one adventure that, as a Timelord, he could never have, and had never wanted.
He was glad, in the end, that his counterpart hadn't given them the lump of TARDIS to them on the beach, but to him in private. Now, it was grown, but it wouldn't be the Doctor and Rose travelling through the stars; it would just be the Doctor. As it should be, he supposed bitterly.
Rose moved on. It wasn't hard, now that she could have him back, if she wanted. She still had his mobile number, and she knew he'd come back for her.
So when her boyfriend dumped her, and she needed him, she called.
The phone was disconnected.
Very different to what I normally write, I know. Blame Ace of Gallifrey and her anti-Rose LiveJournal rant; I need to get this out of my system.
Please note that this isn't what I think would happen.
Though, perhaps it's a possibility.
Still like Ten/Rose, though (maybe because Rose is kinda blank and very easy to write for? Never thought of that).
Anyways, please review! :D
