Marco x Jean

Attack On Titan

Sleep talking?!

After a long day of training, Jean and Marco walked back with the rest of the group behind them on their way to the sleeping quarters.

Connie drug his feet across the dirt road, completely exhausted. Keith Shadis (bald guy who looks scary) had made him run for 5 hours straight.

Jean heard someone talking about going straight to sleep as soon as they reached their bunks.

"I'm so tired I could collapse any minute now..." Eren said from behind him

Jean thought to himself

' that fucking idiot, why is he even here. It's so obvious he doesn't have what it takes to be in the military, nor survive out their with the Titans.'

Marco responded "yeah, I could get some sleep too. He trained our butts off out there." He turned to face his friend. Jean blushed slightly and thought

' Fuck! Of course he agrees...stupid Jean!'

Before long, they reached the porch of cabin #5 B . Jean, Marco, Connie, Eren, And Armin walked into the cabin. All most all of them got into their bunks and fell asleep, instantly. All except for Marco. He was physically tired but could not go to sleep for the life of him.

"Hey, you awake?"

He whispered to Jean, who had taken the bunk right under him.

Marco leaned over the edge of the bed and heard a slight mumble that seemed to have come from Jean.

"...m-Marco..."

Marco blushed in surprise.

' I-is he talking in his sleep? What is he dreaming about? W-why did he say my name?'

So many questions flooded Marco's mind.

A few second later, he heard another mumble from the sleeping horse.

"M-Marco...don't die...please...don't leave me..." A tear rolled down his cheek.

An expression of worry flashed across his face. He climbed down the latter and sat beside Jean. Marco said softly

"I...I don't know if you can hear me but I am right here. With you. I'm not gonna die. We can make it through this. We are gonna graduate and join the Military police. We can be happy, together. And we won't have to worry about the Titans or Food shortages. We are gonna make it. I promise, Jean."

After about a minute of complete silence, Marco finally bursts out three words that he thought he would ever say to his best friend.

" I love you!" His eyes filled with tears. Marco tried hard to hold them back. Jean would say it was low to cry.

Jean woke up in a sweat to find Marco by his side, crying.

"M-Marco? Hey, what's wrong?" He sat up in bed and patted his friend on the back. Marco looked up and hugged him. "Is there something I should know about?" Jean whispered trying to to wake anyone up. "N-no, I'm fine I just...miss home that's all..."

"Oh, I thought I heard you say something...but maybe I'm wrong..."

Marco sat there with his arms wrapped around his dear friend. He knew he would never have the courage to say the same three words again to Jean. He stopped crying and hid his emotions under a smile.
