Disclaimer: I do not own Anne of Green Gables.

A lovely woman clad in a beautiful white dress looked at herself in the mirror with anxious blue eyes. Nervously she lifted her hand to pat down a misplaced strand of ebony hair before straightening her dress. A door opened softly behind her and she heard the sweet chuckle of her step-mother.

"Nervous are we?" Rosemary asked as she walked up behind the bride and placed comforting hands on her shoulders. "Don't worry, I was nervous on my wedding day as well. I assume most women are. It will all go away soon though, when you see the groom."

Una turned to face her wonderful step-mother her expression the same and her hands still restless. "Oh, but it seems like nothing could make me calm. What if something goes wrong? I don't know if I can bear it."

Rosemary smiled warmly before removing Una's hands which were clutching her dress and taking them in her own. "Darling, don't worry. Even if something goes wrong, it doesn't mean that you won't be married, it will just create an obstacle. Now, everyone is waiting downstairs for you. I'll leave and give you a moment to compose yourself." She said softly before placing a chaste kiss on Una's head and walking out of the room.

Una watched Rosemary leave and turned back to the mirror to evaluate herself one more time. With a glance to the side she saw the beautiful bouquet she was to carry and picked it up. Taking a deep breathe to try to calm herself, she left the room and took small, delicate footsteps toward the staircase. As she descended the staircase time seemed to stop when her gaze settled on the man she was to marry.

His black hair was combed neatly back and his soulful grey eyes brightened visibly when he saw her. Then realiztion caught up with her. No matter what, by the end of the day, she would belong to Walter Blythe and he would belong to her. Suddenly she was no longer the worried woman she had been before, she was a beautiful and happy bride walking towards her groom with a smile of pure joy on her face.

Walter smiled as Una walked up to him looking more lovely than anything he could imagine. When she reached him, he took her hand and led her through the crowd of people, out of the house, and toward the wonderful Rainbow Valley. It only seemed fitting that the young couple should be married in the enchanted valley where they had spent so much time in childhood.

Birds sang melodiously as Walter and Una said their vows underneath the Tree Lovers and Una was filled with pure happiness. Her dream had finally come true, and she felt that her life must be as perfect as a person's life could be.

Sunlight shone through a window and hit Una's face as her eyelids slowly parted to show happy dark blue eyes. Una sat up in her bed and looked around slightly before a frown formed on her face and a few tears filled her eyes. She sniffed softly to keep back the tears but one or two slipped out and ran down her face.

It always broke her heart when she awoke from that particularly cruel dream, that could never be a reality. Una would not have the chance to even see Walter on this earth again, much less marry him, but still she dreamed of doing just that.

With a sigh she got up from her bed and walked over to her window. Somedays she wondered how she could even live without Walter but then she would always remember. She would remember that Walter had wanted her to keep faith. So, as she stood at her window, she pushed away thoughts of her dream and concentrated on keeping faith as she had done so many times before.

A/N: Well, I've been thinking of writing a fanfic for Anne of Green Gables for a while, and this is what I came up with. It's rather short, I know, but beside that what do you think of it? Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read this, and I would really appreciate constructive critisism.
