The Arcobaleno still did assignments on Valentine's Day, of course; why waste a day on which targets leave themselves so defenseless? Colonello didn't want to work on the holiday, really, but then again Lal did, so he didn't really have much say on it.
Skull didn't want to either, likely just because of laziness, but his opinion didn't matter anyway.
But apparently, Fon learned upon returning to his office to fill out paperwork on the successful assassination he'd just completed, that didn't mean they couldn't celebrate it in some way.
Because otherwise there probably wouldn't be a large, red camellia blossom settled atop the forms.
"You got me a flower?" The words were spoken softly and with only somewhat restrained amusement, posed as a question even when the speaker already knew the answer. Reborn glanced at the Storm Arcobaleno out of the corner of his eye, studying the slight upturn of his lips and the relaxed, half-unguarded posture and came to the conclusion that Fon fully expected a reply anyway. In fact, he'd probably sought out the Sun for explicitly that reason.
Well then. He ought to respond.
He turned away to keep the other from noticing or commenting on his smirk.
"Someone else did."
Later on that day, Fon alerted him to his presence a second time with a thoughtful-sounding "hmm." Which was good, since the small noise kept him from shooting at the black fabric that intruded on a corner of his vision in the next moment. He turned to see what it was.
Of course. Fon had no doubt appreciated the gift, but he knew Reborn far too well to get the same for him; Reborn had no real use for flowers, after all.
"You got me a fedora." he stated, blunt and straightforward, as he took it from the offering hands. It was a nice hat, though. Good quality material, with a bright yellow band. It would go well with his usual suit.
Fon turned and started to leave--but not without tossing a sly almost-grin over his shoulder.
"Someone else did."
After the Asian man left earshot, the world's greatest hitman allowed himself an amused smile and settled the fedora on his head.
"Hmph. Caught."
