"Let's play another game, Shou-chan." It was easy, so easy, to hear the smile at the end of the voice. Just as it always was.

"We could try something other than chess; that last one was a great match, but didn't turn out so fair, what with my own queen taking my rook and bishop like that~. And your queen was stronger than even you planned~! He didn't even take my king, and went for me instead, what a rule breaker. I'm not so sure you won that, Shou-chan, since Kikyou was left alive and Uni wasn't~. So we definitely need some sort of rematch, right?"

There was a short pause for thought.

"Go, maybe. The pieces are more nondescript, less individually important. It might be a little difficult getting so many people at similar power levels, but I think it would be worth the effort! A nice change of pace, too; a mass brawl would be more interesting than the one on one fights we usually end up with, don't you agree?" There was another break in his voice, and when it continued again, it was lower, less babying.

"Think about it, okay, Shou-chan? I'll be expecting an answer~"

Click. Dial tone.

... Go, huh. It would be a bit of a bother counting out all the pieces and their potential strengths to make sure he wasn't going to cheat on me, but...

Why not. He was right; that last game had ended disappointingly.
