Your Closeness I Envy

Krad turns from the window to the bed, on which Dark's host lies.

"I never wanted to become deeply connected to you, Daisuke" The truth, yet such a lie. He never wanted it before, but now he has it he never wants it to end.

"I… I've always…" why is it so difficult to say? Just five words, just five words to admit it.

"…I've always envied you." There, he's said it. Let his soul be condemned to a hell that he doesn't even believe in.

When you've been through hell and come back alive, you realise it's all a sham.

Punishment doesn't last for eternity; it lasts far longer.

He envies Niwa Daisuke because of his closeness to Dark; his enemy, his friend, his counterpart, his self, his something which he cannot quite describe, who shares a body with this mortal.

But now, for some reason, he also envies Dark's closeness to his tamer.

He tells himself he doesn't know why; he denies the truth.

Satoshi's emotions are taking him over, and he can feel things he never could before. What use has an artwork of emotion?

But something inside him knows, so Satoshi knows, and perhaps everyone knows, except him.

/End/

A/N. Ah, the spoilers o'doom. And strong hints of Krad/Daisuke, if you're that way inclined. A little bit of comfort for a fangirl.
