A Life For A World

By: Elizabeth Whittaker

This is the third Lufia poem that I have written while I was in a group home. This is a Lufia II poem, about when Iris told Maxim how to save Parcelyte by stopping the Mystic Stones on Doom Island. These are his last words, in his point of view.

Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals is owned by Natsume. All characters belong to them.

**I used the music on the Lufia soundtrack to write this.

Trapped in this time

With no one to save me,

I look to the stones

To show me the way.

My wife has been slain,

My son's life in danger

As Daos' spirit haunts me

And commands the Mystic Stones to destroy Parcelyte.

Knowing I had sealed my fate

When Guy and Atrea Warped from Doom Island,

I pick up Dual Blade,

Slowly breathing as I look for the first Mystic Stone.

It was easy to find,

As it shined in the middle of the labyrinth.

I cross the path and destroy it,

Hoping I am not too late.

The second one was the same as the first,

It only taking one blow to destroy.

But the last one was the hardest

As I saw its brillant, resonant light.

I thought in despair

That I was too late

Until Dual Blade rang

And showed me the way.

I had to give my life

In order to save my son.

My life for a world . . .

And my baby boy.

"Dual Blade, be one with me

And help destroy the last Mystic Stone!"

The Dual Blade ran and with my lifefore

As it destroyed the last Mystic Stone.

As I feel my lifeforce ebbing,

Slowly fading away,

I dream of my wife, Selan,

And of my baby boy, Jeros.

I hear Selan calling my name,

Knowing I am about to die.

A smile curls on my lips as I close my eyes,

Knowing I am not alone.

I know my fate was sealed

When Erim came to me.

But she was evil and helped me

And my world to become free.
