Disclaimer: Gravitation and all its characters, etc. belong to Maki Murakami – I'm just borrowing her ideas.

Author's Rant: Hi! This is my first fanfiction, ever. And it's a poem that somehow turned into a song, if you cannot tell...I have never written a song before. Please be gentle! Oh, and please R&R!

Genre: General/Angst

Warnings: None. Well, unless you count shonen-ai. But seriously, this is Gravitation.

Summary: Just a random song written from Yuki's POV...I know, I know – don't kill me – Yuki does not write songs in the anime. But he does write a song for Shuichi in the manga.

It Must Be a Dream – Just One Lifetime More

With frightened eyes, I look across the sky,

Staring out towards the sinking sunset

That hovers over the city like a bird of prey.

What drove me this far, so far out –

I abandon my soul to the wordless winds –

Perhaps it was a dream, yes, it must be a dream.

This life was forbidden from the beginning,

Meant to be nothing but a relationship,

Of no reciprocation, that breathes as in dying.

So what drove me this far, too far out –

I can no longer see the shores beyond –

Perhaps it was a dream, yes, it must be a dream.

Yet if this existence is only dreaming –

Living, dying – Why does it matter?

Reality and fantasy intertwine as life,

Shining the first radiance in the dark.

Let me live, pretending, dreaming on.

Let me go – mou ichi do – just one lifetime more.

Already crossing the threshold, I realized

Too late: We long passed the no return,

Somewhere in the maze of memories.

What drove me this far, so far out –

I lose my senses in the silent desert –

Perhaps it was a dream, yes, it must be a dream.

City lights set afire the night skies,

Life, and you, spin on through the darkness,

Untouched by the farewells of shooting stars.

What drove me this far, so far out –

I shed my tears under the soft moonlight –

Perhaps it was a dream, yes, it must be a dream.

Yet if this existence is only dreaming –

Living, dying – Why does it matter?

Reality and fantasy intertwine as life,

Shining the first radiance in the dark.

Let me live, pretending, dreaming on.

Let me go – mou ichi do – just one lifetime more.

Wanting to reach out, deny the destiny,

My mind cries in warning, afraid of remembering,

My hear screams in agony, dying again, again.

So what drove me so far, too far out –

I bind my heart with the chains of change –

Perhaps it was a dream, yes, it must be a dream.

I want to linger, stay near, hold you close,

Never letting go. But time moves on ceaselessly:

Whispering, forgetting, I take and leave nothing.

What drove me this far, so far out –

I wish myself away to the intangible –

Perhaps it was a dream, yes, it must be a dream.

Yet if this existence is only dreaming –

Living, dying – Why does it matter?

Reality and fantasy intertwine as life,

Shining the first radiance in the dark.

Let me live, pretending, dreaming on.

Let me go – mou ichi do, onegai – please,

Just one lifetime more.
