I literally just finished The Girl Who Waited...This poem is written in the style of Diplocardia and Divided Hearts. The left is young Amy, bold is Old Amy, and middle is where they overlap. (Except a few lines in Old Amy's speech at the end.)
Tick tock goes the clock
and all the years they fly
Tick tock and all too soon
You and I must die
One wrong button
If I'd stayed with them
He'll come
He always comes
He came on Demon's Run
He'll come
He never came
He never will.
He's forgotten me
Safe here,
they can't sense me
here
I'll wait
My home here
if you can call it that
Only a robot pet
my voice is rusted
Doctor, I'm waiting
Rory?
What is he doing here?
Rory…
Rory…
I love you
But…
thirty-seven years later
I'm crying
I can't keep crying
He's going to find me
and then he'll ask why
I'm crying
and I'll laugh him off
He just gets in the way
Leave me alone
I've made a life for myself
a death
Rory is watching
and
who's that?
Old, lined face
eyes hard as gems
still young
still naive enough
to wait
me
Amy Pond
Please,
I plead to
myself
Let them find me
No.
She didn't then
I won't now
I've waited so long
I want rescue
One question
Three words
What about Rory?
Rory.
I named the robot Rory
Nothing special
at first
But remember the time
He pretended
to be in a band
learned the guitar
so
I wouldn't know
Rory's the most beautiful man I've ever met
I'll tear time for him
It can't keep us
apart
I'm coming too
The Doctor says
remember
something important
first kiss
I'm coming
I'm not leaving
I'm here
Rory
My Rory
Eight minutes
after thirty-seven years,
what's that
run
Run!
Handbot.
My neck…
He's holding her
his eyes
he loves her
me
"Go! I'll cover you!"
The Doctor
all these years later
the Doctor
He meets my eyes
we both know
slams the door
I wonder
what he says to Rory
But I know
my fate
"I love you"
He says
I love you, too
-but-.
Don't let me in.
Tell Amy
your Amy
I'm giving her
the days
the days with you
the days to come
the days I can't have.
Take them please.
I'm giving my days.
