What if alice had kept her word?
If she hadn't seen Bella jump off the cliff?
If Rosalie never told Edward?
If Jacob was too late?
What if when Edward returned to Forks to see Bella all he saw was her grave?
EDWARDS POV
This has been going on way too long. I couldnt take one more day without seeing Bella again. I wouldn't. I had to call Alice and tell her I was going. We could go together. It would be perfect. I hope Bella would forgive me and realize I was trying to do this to keep her safe. I picked up my cell and quickly dialed her number.
"Hello?" A voice I hadn't heard in months say.
"Alice?" I asked, though I was already positive that it was her.
"Edward! Where are you?" She screamed in my ear.
"I'm coming home. We are going to Forks. I need to see Bella. But dont look into the future. I want to see the surprise on her face when she sees us." I said. I could hear the joy in my voice. Joy that hadn't been there fo months.
"Of course. I will meet you in our old house in an hour."
"Okay." I said and hung up, begining my run to our house. When I got there, Alice was already waiting for me. We both ran towards each other and hugged.
"I missed you." She said.
"I missed you too. Now lets go get Bella." I said and we both started running to her house. When we got there we got to her window and climbed in. I was shocked to see it contained a tread mill. A tread mill and nothing else.
"Maybe we should ask for her from the front door." Alice said and we made our way out to the front door. I knocked and saw a much older looking Charlie Swan starring at us. His expression quickly changed to pure hate and detest.
"You! Get out of her Edward! You did this! Your the reason she isn't here!" He said. His voice cracked and he was fighting back tears. What did he mean 'isn't here?' Did she move back in with her mom?
"What? Whats going on? Where is Bella?" I asked. I looked over to Alice and she was just as shocked as I was.
"Shes dead Cullen and its all your fault! She committed suicide!" He said and slammed the door in my face. What was he talking about? Bella wasn't dead. She couldn't be dead. No, this wasn't happening. I looked at Alice for reassurence but she just looked away and thats when I knew I would never see Bellas beautiful smile again. And nobody will ever see mine again either.
