Copycock

The day it was Kakashi's turn to think up a competition, he chose that the winner would be whoever has the grayest hair.

Needless to say, he won.

When it was Gai's turn, he challenged Kakashi to a race around the world.

Kakashi never showed up at the appointed time, so Gai declared himself the official winner.

The next time, Kakashi announced that the competition would award a point to whoever became a chuunin first.

Naturally, Kakashi won that as well.

Now, it was Gai's day to think up a competition. He racked his brain trying to think of something that would be fair for both of them, but he wanted to make sure he won. After all, if Kakashi won this time then the score would be 53 to 55, which was just unbearable. No, he had to win so he could tie the scores up.

Kakashi showed up at the named place at the appropriate time, which was actually about six hours later than it should have been, but that was good because Gai needed more time to think anyway.

"So, what's the competition today, Gai?" Kakashi asked.

"Well…" Gai said. "I've been trying to think of something original, but have so far had no success!"

"Oh?" said Kakashi, raising an eyebrow.

"Instead, I just want to ask you a question."

"What's that?"

"Can your Sharingan copy…EVERYTHING?"

Kakashi paused and thought. "Yes, Gai." Said Kakashi. "It can copy everything."

"Oh ho." Said Gai as he put his hands in his pockets. "Is that so?"

"Yes." Said Kakashi.

"Then I would just have to call you a copycat!"

"Some people do." Kakashi shrugged.

"Well, I happen to know there is one thing you cannot copy."

Kakashi waited for Gai to explain, but he didn't. So instead, Kakashi happened to notice that Gai was standing quite proudly with his lower half of his body thrust forward.

"AHA!" laughed Gai. "You can't copy THIS!"

Kakashi didn't answer.

"I wouldn't call you a copycat in the event that you copied this." Said Gai, referring heartily to his hefty bulge. "I would call you… A COPYCOCK!"

Still, Kakashi didn't answer.

"Well, my eternal rival?" said Gai. "What do you have to say to that, you copycock you?"

A long period of time went by.

Finally, Kakashi spoke.

"Gai," he said.

"Yes?" Gai said eagerly.

"I cannot say anything."

"What?" Gai said, confused.

"There is nothing I can say."

"Why?" Gai cried.

"There is nothing I can say, except there is nothing I can say."

"What?" Gai was awfully puzzled.

"I can't say anything."

Kakashi turned his back to Gai and started walking away.

Gai pondered about the encounter he had just had, and then put his hands on his hips.

"Hey, Kakashi!" he called. "Does that mean I win?"

"Sure." Said Kakashi as he quickened his pace.

"YES!" cheered Gai. "The score is now 54 to 54! I will beat you next time, my eternal rival!"
