Disclaimer: Kuroshitsuji is not mine.

A/N: Spoilers for the newest manga arc. I know I'm on hiatus, but this had to be written or it was going to kill me. Events are kinda-sorta outta synch with the manga showings.... I don't care. Enjoy.

"No! Sebastian! SEBASTIAN!"

He's crying, sobbing. All he can see is the peaceful face of his butler. There's blood everywhere—it's smeared on his nightshirt and it covers Sebastian, all over. The nobles and Mister Wordsmith stared in shocked silence as the young Earl Phantomhive pounds the body of the deceased butler with his fists.

"Sebastian! Wake up! I order you to wake up! It's an order! AN ORDER! WAKE UP, SEBASTIAN!"

Finny is crying and the Ciel is pulled away from the body of his once butler. A few hours ago, Sebastian gave him his special pillow and offered, jokingly, if the young earl wanted his butler to sing him a lullaby. But now—he was dead.

"You were supposed to be by my side until the end!" Ciel screams, disregarding all dignity and resorts to childish outbursts. "You weren't supposed to die! Wake up, Sebastian! WAKE UP!"

"Young Master . . ." Bard, Finnian, and May Rin do their best to comfort their master, but he's not having any of it.

Cold reality sinks in. The young Earl sinks to his knees. "Sebastian . . . Sebastian . . ." He's sobbing; he hadn't realized how much he'd relied on the demon. "Sebastian . . ." As Finny wraps an arm around his master's shoulders, Ciel breaks down, and for once acts the age of twelve he is, not the age most people think he is. For once in a long while, since after his kidnapping and enslavement, Ciel is a child.

Then he straightens, turns to Tanaka and makes him his new butler. The stoic look has returned to his face, and there are no signs of the outburst that happens just minutes before. Ceil Phantomhive is gone; Earl Phantomhive has returned.

A/N: SEBASTIAN, COME BACK. I CAN'T DEAL WITH YOU NOT BEING AWESOME. . . . even if Tanaka suddenly just became like about a bajillion times more awesome, and I want him to be my grandpa, BUT STILL. COME BACK. (Even though, y'know, I don't think he's dead, but that's just me)
