The great and majestic owl stared down at me from his perch atop the barren tree. I stared back at him, dread growing.
"Would you like me to repeat what I just said?" asked Kaepora Gaebora, his head tilting to the side until it was literally upside down.
'FOR GODDESSES' SAKE, JUST SHUT UP!' I mentally screamed, but was only able to answer, "No."
The massive bird nodded at me, then spread his wings and flew away.

Did this yesterday in Writing Workshop. The 10-minute prompt was to write something "haunting and vivid." Having been playing a lot Zelda lately, this is what I came up with.
Just in case it isn't clear, it's sorta supposed to be from the player's perspective. Or Link's. Whichever.
