Notes: This is my first FB fic and will probably be the last. I wrote it for a friend of my mine who is obssessed with it.

I'm Sorry

Night felt onto the Sohma house and once again the house's flame haired occupant was on a mindless rampage. Normally when Kyo Sohma needed to think outside in the fresh air, he would just go lay down on the roof, but not tonight. No, he wanted to go for a walk through the woods; he needed to clear his head.

Kyo is known for having a temper as fiery as his bright orange hair. He could completely lose it at the smallest provocation. Once angry, he would then proceed to attack whatever had caused his anger. But tonight was different. Tonight he had gotten mad at the wrong person… tonight he had screwed up.

Damn! How could I be so careless!? I shouldn't have gotten so angry!

He slammed his fist into a nearby tree in an attempt to release some of his frustration. Mainly, the only thing it did was to make his hand hurt.

He turned his back to the tree and slid to the ground. He hung his head and tried to think of a way to make things better.

He did it… he had finally gone too far. He let his anger control him and he lashed out against the one person who never does anything wrong… the one person he would never want to hurt.

Tohru… He thought sadly as he saw her shocked face in his head. She had looked so small and frail as she hung her head. She brought up her hands to hide the tears from him. Seeing her crying face and knowing that he had caused her pain shook Kyo back to reality. He was so ashamed of himself. He had fled from the house, not going to the roof because Tohru would know where to find him. He couldn't face her again.

Lost in thought, Kyo didn't hear Tohru approach.

"Kyo?" She asked softly. Jolting at the sound of her voice, he looked up into her large eyes. "Kyo… I'm sorry… I'm sorry for making you do angry before…" She looked to the ground as Kyo stared at her in amazement.

She was sorry? She didn't do anything wrong!

Kyo slowly stood and walked over to her keeping his head low.

"What are you talking about? Why are you apologizing? I'm the one who should apologize! I'm the one who lost control… I should have never yelled at you… you've done nothing wrong…" Kyo said softly. Tohru looked up at his lowered head.

"Kyo… you shouldn't worry about me… I was just so scared that you were going to stay angry with me… I really didn't mean to upset you so…" Kyo reached out and pulled her small form towards him and wrapped her in his warm embrace.

"You idiot… I could never stay angry at you…"

Tohru smiled. "I'm glad…"

Shigure and Yuki looked onto the scene in, mild amusement.

"Well, it looks like that worthless cat does have a heart…" Yuki muttered disdainfully.

"He does seem to have a bit of a soft spot, doesn't he?" Shigure commented amusedly. "Well, it looks like she's got things under control." He turned and headed back to the house with Yuki following reluctantly. He turned to look at them once more; Tohru was still caught up in Kyo's embrace. Yuki thought he saw Kyo smiling for a moment, but then convinced himself that it was just due to the darkness and left them.
