Angel Sleeping Beside Him
Sakura quietly opened Syaoran's bedroom door and without making a sound she crossed the room and slipped under the covers, being sure not to jostle the sleeping boy beside her. She silently let out the breath that she was unaware of holding as she allowed a wave of peace to wash over her.
On top of the constant stress of the next Dark Force showing up at and any moment's notice to wreck havoc, school life has become unbearable. Always a firm believer that everything will be okay, Sakura was ready to toss that aside. The rumours were alienating her from the whole student body and every time she tried to reach out to anyone she was given the cold shoulder. With Syaoran dealing with Clan problems on top of managing the Dark Forces, Sakura did not dare to make the burden heavier by unloading her own problems.
She recently started sneaking in Syaoran's room at night and made sure to leave before her roommate woke up. Despite sharing a kiss on the train weeks ago, neither of them brought it up. Sakura was not going to send out mixed signals now. No, Syaoran could not know. Being sure to lie facing away from him to make the least noise as possible, she quickly drifted to sleep.
Her breath was finally even. Syaoran's eyes snapped open as he slowly turned his head to look at the angel sleeping beside him. He knew Sakura long enough to know that something was bothering her, but he knew better than to pry. For one week he shared his bed and for one week he woke up alone. It was at least time to reach out, to let her know that he was there for her.
Syaoran turned towards Sakura and scooted closer. He gently wrapped his arms around the sleeping girl and brought his chest to her back. Even in her sleep she responded by snuggling deeper into his arms. After daring to drop a tender kiss on her cheek, Syaoran fell asleep with a smile on his face. Tomorrow morning they will wake up together.

A/N: Hello everyone in fanfiction land! New Trials fans would recognize that the above scene takes place in the beginning of Arc III, while Tomoyo was under the influence of a certain Dark Force. Though I haven't posted fanfic in over a decade, I am still very involved in the New Trials of Cardcaptor Sakura, Syaoran and Friends by Wishluv (or Wish-chan) community.
