Hello peoplez, I'm back and ready to make you feel whatever.

So boom, a short story based off a Rick Riordan tweet!

Only the weirdest things happen in mythology.

Like how a titan confused a stone for his son or how Athena just kind of popped out of Zeus' head one day.

But the most interesting thing about mythology is what happened in my life.

I was born in California and raised by two of the best demigods who have ever existed. Despite me being… what I am, the two loved me as much as any parents could.

They stuck with me through ridicule and scorn by the other kids at Camp Jupiter. They always told me that I was special.

So I grew up and became more skilled in what I could do best.

And eventually, I found a really good friend. The daughter of the last praetor of New Rome. Sometimes we would spend days riding. Sometimes we'd visit the stables. Once we even rode out to the muster field.

We grew up together, advancing through the ranks at the same pace until finally, she became praetor herself.

Today was the ceremony for it and I wanted to look my best for it.

Is my hair straight?

"Yes, Lizzy, it's straight." Hylla replied.

What about-

"There's nothing to worry about. You look great."

I'm really happy for you!

"Thank you." She replied.

Something wrong?

"No, I'm just nervous. I mean, what if I'm terrible at this? I have big shoes to fill…"

Oh don't worry about it! I replied, I mean, your mother is already very proud of you.

"It feels weird," She replied, "Mom's retiring so that I could step up."

No, she's retiring so she could spend more time with your father. I replied.

"But if she didn't step down," Hylla replied, "Then I would never get this opportunity…"

Hey, you can't go through life wonder "what if?" You have to take every chance you get.

Hylla smiled. "Thanks Izzy."

Anytime!

Hylla they walked over to my side and climbed into my saddle.

"You're the best horse anyone can have."

Aww, you aren't getting all gushy on me now, are you Hylla?

"Of course not Izzy." Hylla replied, "Now come on, I'll get you a carrot after the ceremony."

Yep. I'm a horse. You got a problem with that?
