E/O Challenge: to, too, and two
Spoilers: Takes place after the events of 3.11: Mystery Spot
A/N1: This wasn't quite the Drabble I'd set out to write. But, this is the Drabble that came out in the 10 minutes I allot myself to write these things, so…
A/N2: Much love and thanks to Kailene. My anchor. My shoulder to cry on. My cheerleader. My smack up the side of the head when I need it. ;-)
Summary: When clock is ticking down and the possibility of a last minute save is looking less and less likely with each passing minute, sometimes the kindest thing we can do is promise that we'll be okay after the final strike even when we know it's a lie.

After the Stroke of Midnight
Dean doesn't know and Sam doesn't think he can ever tell him. There's just too much trauma, grief, and anger; so much anger still seething beneath the surface he thinks he might choke on it.
Then there's the guilt; over what he did, what he became, and how far he went. And he'd go farther. He knows it and it scares him to death.
Dean says he's going to be fine in two weeks when his Deal comes due, but he doesn't know what Sam knows.
And Sam can't tell him.
He won't be fine, at all. He'll be lost.
