A/N: Hey guys, this is my second fanfic posted here, but my first bones so please don't be too harsh? I wrote this a while ago and only discovered it now. It's un-beta edited but my wonderful friend read it over so please excuse any errors that have slipped passed her, me and word. Hope you enjoy it :)

The two sat in their usual table at the Royal Diner. Each had their usual meals, burger with fries for Booth, salad for Brennan, who was as usual stealing Booth's fries. The scene was no different from the many times they had been there. Booth was staring at the glass of water sitting in the middle of the table hoping a case would pop up soon.

"Bones, are you a glass half full kinda girl, or a glass half empty?"

"I don't know what that means Booth."

"You know, are you optimistic or are you like...uh...anti optimistic?"

"The correct word for the opposite of optimism is pessimism Booth."

"Yeah, right. So, are you optimistic or pessimistic?"

"Well in this situation, I see a glass holding a body of liquid, in this case water, up to the half way point."

"So...half full?"

"What? No Booth. I was merely stating a fact. I don't know how you get optimism and pessimism out of a glass holding water."

"Well you know the glass half full is optimism and the glass half empty is pessimism."

"I still don't understand Booth."

"You know Bones, don't worry about it."

"Well it seems somewhat important to you, perhaps you should explain it more in depth for me."

"Bones, it doesn't matter..."

The shrill of Booths cell phones breaks the conversation. Booth takes it out of his pocket and flips it open.

"Booth, ok, where? Ok, on my way."

"Come on Bones, we got a case."

"Okay."

The pair stand, Booth drops a few notes on the table, they grab their coats and make their way to the door when Brennan stops.

"Booth, do you want to finish your glass of water?"
