Truth or Dare Anyone?

The breath tickled her left ear but she leaned in closer against her better judgment.

"Beautiful. Intelligent. Those deep chocolate eyes. That devilish smile and wit. Your captivating laugh," the voice whispered leisurely.

It continued as her hand found one of his and intertwined them leaving the other to find its way to her waist to pull her snuggly against his side. Her breath wavered yet the voice didn't. But she couldn't kiss him first, she wouldn't.

"Stunning. Gorgeous. Without match."

Oh how Rodney was pressing the line. She had promised herself she would win this dare. Yet here she was with nothing but her crumbling resolution to stop her.

"Rodney," Jennifer mumbled, holding onto each word.

His lips still hovered next to her ear. "Yes, my darling, beautiful wife?" Then he finally did it. He touched his lips to her ear, sliding down the outer edge.

How she shivered in response, it drove her mad. "Rodney," she huskily tried again, forgetting he had answered.

"Hm?" he hummed into her ear.

The vibration sent another shiver down her back and Rodney's hand followed the path back up. "Th-This isn't fair. You're cheating." She wasn't going to… she couldn't.

"Who's to say this is cheating?" He grinned, his lips nipping her earlobe just once.

"Ah, Rodney," she gasped, "I give up." Jennifer shook her hand loose from his and framed his face, bringing his lips to hers with a blinding ferocity.

He grinned in the middle of the kiss and she pulled back to see a more smug look. "It's all about tactics, Jennifer. See, whispering in the left ear transfers the sound to the right side of the brain leaving out all the logic found on the left side. Simple, my dear."

"You're right," she agreed, kissing him again, "cheater."

It was maybe slightly hard to pick up on but the dare was mutually-set between them. The first to kiss the other would lose. Thanks for taking the time to read it.
