As Hiei hid in the shadows of the trees he watch as Botan wrote in her book. He watched her every day and often wondered what she wrote. He thought about it for a moment then decided to forget it. So he continued to watch her.
The sun was high in the sky and it was a warm sunny day. A cool breeze past by. Hiei watch the smile of comfort and joy that appeared on the girl's face. He gave a faint smile.
Hiei reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. It was a letter he wrote. He wanted to give it to her, but couldn't. He sighed as he read it to himself.
He also wondered why he felt so drawn to this woman. He didn't bother to question this anymore though. He just watched as Botan continued to write. He sighed again and leaned against the trunk of the he sat in. He watched with a faint smile.
She seemed to enjoy writing. He again wondered what she wrote that gave her so much joy. Though a part of him didn't want to know. He just wanted to watch her all day.
She was always so happy. Why? He watched closer as if he'll find out more about her that way.
She closed her book and started to leave. Hiei didn't follow but noticed that she dropped her book. He jumped from his perch in the tree.
He picked up the book and looked at the cover. It was light blue and said My Poems in red marker. He opened it. And started to read what was written.
A small blush crept to his cheeks when he was finished reading. He thought for a moment then knew he had to give her the letter. He had an idea.
He took the letter from his pocket and placed inside the book. He closed the book and started in the direction Botan went off in.
Just then Botan came running back looking for her book. She blushed when she saw Hiei had it. She took it and left. She then noticed that there was something inside it.
She opened the cover and found a folded piece of paper. She read it. She blushed slightly when she was done. She turned around to see Hiei still standing there.
He looked at her as she looked back at him. She came closer. When she reached him she put her arms around him. He also put his arms around her. When they let go he smiled at her. She smiled back.
Without a word the went their separate ways and looked back only one last time.
