A/N: I became aware today that there are ZERO Hiro/Daphne fics on here. Am I the only one that ships these two? Seriously? Well, I just had to fix this.

It was raining. He marched through the puddles, jumping in a few as he crossed the street, dodging the heavy flow of traffic. His destination.

It was a girl with bright white hair. She was unseasonably dressed in a red dress. She sat under the bus stop shelter. He knew she wasn't waiting for a bus though. There was no need for her to.

It was the first time their eyes met in a long time. Hers were confused. His were sad.

"Hiro?"

It was so good to hear her say his name. As he approached the shelter she stood up. He pulled her out into the rain.

It was their first kiss.

"Nemesis," he said softly as they pulled away. She giggled.

"I'm all wet."

"Sorry, sorry." He bowed and stopped time. She looked around in amazement at the bullets of rain, frozen mid air. They looked like ice crystals. She was more beautiful, dancing in the stationary rain.

It was almost time to go. "Can we sit?" he asked. She shrugged and nodded. They sat together, not in the shelter, but on a car that was moving probably sixty miles per hour.

"What's up?" she asked cheerfully.

"I came back in time to see you," he explained. She laughed at this, her head tilting in confusion.

"You can't see me in the future?"

It was heartbreaking. He shook his head. "I'm dying," he said, quietly as possible, not caring to explain that she was already dead. He mouth opened in surprise.

"I'm sorry," she said.

"I have to go." He made sure she got down safely from the car, pushed the glasses up the bridge of his nose, and disappeared.

It wasn't heroic to cry in front to girls.
