Witchblood by Eve-the-Charlotte

Summary: Just a look into the life of a non-mutant in XME.

Yeah, I'm going to write a story for every single XME character on the selection list. Just because.

When she was young, once upon a time, people in her small village said that a witch's blood was a rare, magical substance, something that could cure illness, aging, even death. So, it was not surprising when they shed her blood before attempting to burn her to the stake.

She was very young when she began to practice her craft. She could brew potions that brought on suffering or pleasure, hideousness or beauty, life or death even. She could cast spells that could equally heal or wound. She had the power of a goddess. So, it was not surprising when they attempted to burn her to the stake.

Yet, she escaped the stake and came to America. There, she fell in love and married a man that was oblivious to her nature. That is, until he caught her performing one of her rituals. He attempted to kill her for it. He died instead. She moved on.

This repeated itself three more times before she became too old to attract more men. So, she instead practiced more at her craft, and became even better at it, perfecting it even. Then, one night, he came.

He was a rather handsome man who requested her help in controlling a rather unruly daughter of his, he told her. He would pay her a large sum of money for her services. She accepted his offer.

From there, she became embroiled in a conspiracy like no other. Deceit and lies and hate lined the path that led her there, but she did not see it until it was far too late. When she attempted to break free, it only ensnared her further. So she resigned herself to this new life, not one she wanted, but one, for once, she could not change.

She was Agatha Harkness.

Read and review, my lovelies!
