RoyxMaes
I'll be with you again
2:29 am the night after the funeral. Roy was sitting in the dark in his living room. He had his gun on the table beside him and a glass of scotch
in his hand. He hadn't allowed himself to cry yet, he wasn't ready. Crying would mean he was letting go of Maes, giving up on him. Roy let out a
shaky sigh as he thought of the time him and Hughes were at his apartment after the war. Roy, you can't sit in here all day come on we'll go out
for lunch or something. Roy was unshaven and on the floor with a bottle of whiskey. Ok fine, I'm sure we can think of some fun things to do here.
Hughes had a devilish grin on his face as he undid his belt. Roy watched him from his resting place on the floor, he watched as Hughes took his
glasses off and ran his hand through his hair like he always did. He longed for him but couldn't help but think of all the people he killed in the war.
Hughes started unbuttoning his shirt, Roy finally sat up and took over for Hughes. Hughes leaned down and put his head on top of Roys breathing in
his scent. Roy was done with the buttons and got up bringing Hughes over to the bed. They hadn't done this since before the war but if Hughes
wanted this Roy would do it for him. Roy woke with a start, it was 3:17 am. He still couldn't believe Maes left him. How could he be so stupid! Roy
squeezed the glass in his hand so hard it smashed sending the left over scotch and glass everywhere. He picked up his gun and held it in his
hand that was know bleeding. He thought of all the lost souls, everyone that died because of this gun. The tears he had been holding back
started to drip out. He violently brushed them away leaving red marks on his pale cheeks. He thought of how Maes would somenights call Gracia
and tell her he would be at work all night only to be at Roys making love to him over and over again. He thought of how Maes looked asleep in the early
morning sun. How he never wanted to get up again. 3:59 am by now the tears were flowing freely from his eyes. He lifted the gun shakily to his
temple the gun knocking againest his head. 4:04 am the last reminder of Hughes was the time they were at work planning a party for a fellow
subordinate. So should we go to a bar or a club Roy? I dunno, I was thinking maybe just sending him somewhere. Well than what fun will we have?
Don't we always have fun, well most times anyways. Whats that suppose to mean. Well you've been so caught up in Gracia you've forgotten about
your first love. Hughes suddenly looked series, he took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose. I could never do that Roy, no matter how
much I love Gracia I'll always love you more. Roy wasn't sure what to say, he didn't expect that comeback. He leaned forwards and gently kissed
Hughes head then got up. Lets go, Gracia is expecting you home soon. Hughes looked up and saw that Roy was smiling for the first time in months, a
real smile not one that he plasters on for apperence. 4:26 am Roy's eyes are squeezed shut, the gun still againest his head. Hughes was the only
man he ever loved. I'll be with you again Roy whispered. 4:31 he pulled the trigger.
