Flop. Straighten. Flop. Straighten.
"Dear!! These sunflowers just wont stay up right!"
The dark haired woman sighed. This was not helping to relieve her stress at all.
"Nelle..." Her neice took the vase from her, "You know your not supposed to be working.
This is your night off. Go relax. Ill close up for you ok?"
"Well..."
Lanas tone was final, "Nelle. Now."
The older woman smiled, "Oh alright. If you need me Ill be in the back."
Lana nodded and turned to where her aunt left off with the yellow petaled flowers.
"These give me such deva ju....I wonder why..."
Suddenly, the lighting in the shop darken.
"Hello?" she whispered, "Is anyone there?"
"Missss Lang..." A voice called from the shadows, "As be-oo-tiful as I remember, yes."
"W-Whos there?"
"You even look like her, yes...."
Alright, this was starting to piss her off.
"Show yourself or Im calling the cops."
A snicker. "The police will not help you, no....."
` And then, out of the dark came the most strange being Lana had seen in her entire 17
year existence. It was tall and wore a long maroon coat. Its pointy ears stuck out of its head
and its beard fell down to the floor. Its small beady eyes darted up and down the brunettes
figure making her uneasy in the moonlight.
"Do you know what you are, Misss Lang?"
Finding her voice from deep within she stammered, "Wh-what I...What do you mean?"
"A meteor..." The beast brought its long fingers to its lips, "and such a shame, yes. Did
she tell you?"
"Tell me what? Who?" Curiousity quickly making her forget just what was standing
in front of her.
"Your aunt...you dont know the truth...pity, yes...."
"My aunt? What...what truth?"
"Yessss..." It moved it head to be level with the girls, "I am Seyon, yes and Im very
glad to have found you, Miss Lang..."
She stepped back, uncomfortable with the closeness, "Wh-whys that?"
"Because," Seyon smirked, "youre coming with me, yes...."
"No I-"
"Lana?" Nelles voice filtered into the room, "are you in here? You were gone a long
time and..." the lights flickered on and the being was exposed to the light.
"Seyon!!" Nelle shrieked, "Gosh its been ages!!"
"You two.." the younger woman was in shock, "know eachother?"
"Lana...dear...oh...um....he...well..."
"Its alright," Seyon cut in, "Its time she knew the truth."
Nelle nodded, "Lana, honey, your mother and I, as you know, were sisters. However,
theres another side of the family I never told you about. Your mother and I had a brother, James."
"Why didnt I know about this?"
"James was....different than the rest of the family. He was a wizard."
"A what?"
"A wizard. You know, magic and spells and such. He married a witch named Lily and
they had a son. Soon after, an evil wizard killed them both and the son was left an orphan."
Lanas head was spinning, "Like me."
"Exactly."
"So...where is this cousin of mine?"
Seyon frowned, "In grave danger, yes. I was sent here by Dumbledore to ask for
your assistance."
"Dumble-what?"
"Dumbledore. Headmaster at Hogwarts."
"Hogwarts?"
Seyon shook his head, "My gosh Nelle, you really didnt tell her anything!! Hogwarts
is a school for witches and wizards."
"But me? Im not a witch...how can I help?"
"Ill explain once we arrive at Hogwarts, Miss Lang. Just please say you'll come. Youre
our only hope."
She was scared and terribly uncertain but something inside her compelled her to agree.
"Oh thank you, Miss Lang!!" Seyon exclaimed as he bent down to awkwardly hug her, "There
may be a chance for Harry Potter yet!!"
