Jack twirled the ring on his index finger with his thumb, admiring the way it caught the light.
He watched it move, the thick silver circle band slowly twirled when he pushed it.
He pulled it off long enough to study the inscription that gleamed in the moonlight.
Two against the wilderness
He pushed the ring back on, and curled up under the blankets, Bobby's warm body close to his.
Bobby kissed the back of Jack's neck. "Go to sleep Jackie," he whispered sleepily.
Jack closed his eyes, smiling faintly, his thumb still rubbing against the ring on his finger.
