Saying Goodbye…

The rain came down hard that day, harder than Sam had ever seen it. The windshield wipers could not even keep the rain from obstructing his view. He pulled into the parking space and stepped out of the car. It was unusually cold, colder that he expected. The rain quickly soaked through his suit jacket. He stepped through the gates and looked around. It was absolutely silent. Not a soul moving anywhere. He knew though exactly where he had to go. He walked off to his left and saw the group of people gathered underneath the tent. It was a small group. John, Pastor Jim, Jo, Ellen, and then Dean. Everyone was looking at Dean. Sam walked over and everyone stepped aside. Jo, and Ellen were crying. Sam looked at his Dad. Sam had never seen John so broken before. Sam could tell he was trying extremely hard not to cry. Sam knew the feeling. He walked over and looked at his brother. He looked different.

Pastor Jim stood up and began talking, Sam sat down with the others to listen.

"Dean Winchester was a good man. He strove all his life to do goo…"

Pastor Jim's voice melted away in Sam's mind he was lost in his own thoughts.

"Over here Dean" Sam motioned to Dean.

"Let's finish this." Dean responded.

They had been hunting something that had been killing townspeople for no apparent reason other than it's own enjoyment.

"Over there." Sam whispered.

"I got it." Dean replied.

The beast charged Dean and grabbed him tearing open his chest, and flinging him across the room.

"DEAN!" Sam shouted.

He charged the beast and emptied an entire clip into it in his anger and fear. He ran over to Dean.

"Dean, Oh man…"

"Sorry Sammy."

"For what?" Sam asked as he cradled his brother's head in his arms.

"For leaving."

"No, no… You're going to be fine, come on Dean. You'll be fine, you have to be"

"See ya little bro…"and with that Dean was gone. Sam screamed until he could scream no more.

Pastor Jim's voice slowly melted through Sam's thoughts, as he was finishing.

"And so we shall not long forget the passing of young Dean Winchester. He was a good man, and friend to us all… he will be missed. Goodbye Dean, and may the Lord Bless. With those final words the quiet group stood up and slowly passed his coffin, whispering things or just touching edges of the box. Sam walked up and looked down at his brother lying there in the box. Goodbye Dean, see ya big bro…
