One day, Lelouch Lamperouge reported to his newest meeting, at the Black Knights' hideout. Lelouch wasn't exactly the master of planning, so he put Diethard Ried in charge of the Black Knights' decisions. It was a controversial choice, but Lelouch hardly cared about winning his teammates' approval. He heard that Diethard had invited two special guests, who would make the team lots of money. Lelouch didn't know who they were yet, but he trusted and respected Diethard, so he reported to the building. He still had a hard time winning C. C.'s respect and heart, but he had more immature things to focus on. He grabbed a cup of coffee and threw it on Suzaku Kururugi's shoes. Suzaku said, "Ow, you made my feet feel hot."
Lelouch replied, "I helped you out."
Suzaku asked, "What are you talking about?"
Lelouch said, "You've never been hot, but now, your feet are. That might help you get a girlfriend." Suzaku rolled his eyes.
A few minutes later, Emperor Charles and Empress Marianne walked into the Black Knights' building. The greedy couple were so used to fancy, eloquent places, that they were disgusted by the Black Knights' messy building. Lelouch was deeply surprised to see them and he wasn't thrilled about them visiting. In order to keep them from knowing who he was, he kept his Zero mask on.
Lelouch and Diethard greeted Emperor Charles and Empress Marianne. Diethard was excited to see them, because he was a greedy scoundrel, who hoped that the rich couple would give him lots of money. He tried to hide his greed and look friendly, while saying, "It's an honor to have you guys here."
Emperor Charless proudly replied, "It's always a treat to hear that."
Lelouch jokingly asked, "Do you guys want a bag of dirt?" Diethard angrily glared at Lelouch, so Lelouch decided to not throw dirt in their faces.
Diethard said, "Emperor and Empress, let me show you around my eloquent building. I'm sure that it's one of the nicest places that you've ever been at."
Empress Marianne whispered, "Does he actually think that this is one of the best places we've seen?"
Emperor Charles whispered, "He appears to be an undignified idiot. That'll make our mission quite easy."
Lelouch had a disappointed look on his face, while saying, "I wish that I could throw dirt in their faces, but I can't. Diethard values their opinion and I value his opinions, so I have to be nice." Lelouch looked around and saw Suzaku. He grabbed a bag of dirt and threw it in his face.
Suzaku angrily asked, "What's wrong with you?"
Lelouch had a prideful smile on his face, while saying, "Barely anything."
Suzaku replied, "If you want to be more mature, immature pranks is the last thing you wanna do."
Lelouch tapped Suzaku's head and said, "You seem to know stuff. How do I get mature woman, like C. C., to like me?"
Suzaku replied, "Forget about the pranks and start focusing on how you can help people." Lelouch put his finger on his chin and started thinking about what he could do.
Meanwhile, Diethard showed Emperor Charles and Empress Marianne the room where eccentric products, like Knightmare Frames, were made. Diethard said, "I sell some of the finest items." The Emperor and Empress were repulsed by Diethard's products.
Diethard faced the greedy couple and said, "I'm very proud of what a great company this is and how much money I've made. However, I keep needing to make things better. I need more money. Since you're the richest people in all of Britannia, I'm hoping that you have some money making ideas."
Emperor Charles had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "I always have a money making idea. However, I can't give out my ideas for free. You'll have to give me a very impressive payment."
Diethard replied, "Don't worry. I intend on paying you incredibly well."
Emperor Charles said, "Very well then. You'll need to sell new products."
Diethard replied, "Of course, but what should I sell?"
Emperor Charles tried to think of some dumb products, in order to make the Black Knights go out of business. He looked around the room, so that he could get ideas. He said, "You should sell non-explosive bombs and rocket-powered garbage cans."
Diethard had a confused look on his face, while asking, "Non-explosive bombs?"
Empress Marianne explained, "Bombs are essential weapons in battle, but they're too violent and extreme. By having non-explosive bombs, the enemies will be intimidated by the presence of the bombs, but the fact the fact that they won't blow up shows that you have morals and standards." Diethard barely had any morals or standards, but he liked to pretend he did, so that he could make his ego feel better.
Diethard asked, "What about the rocket-powered garbage cans?"
Empress Marianne had an amused look on her face, while saying, "Garbage cans are usually just used to throw stuff away, but if you add a rocket-powered effect to each garbage can, you'd have quite a useful weapon."
Diethard thought about it and replied, "Those are both brilliant ideas. I'm sure that they'll make me millions of dollars. How much of the profits do you want?"
Emperor Charles said, "Fifty percent."
Diethard asked, "Half? But all you did was come up with the ideas. I have to pay a whole team of people to make the products, advertise them, and sell them."
Emperor Charles did a sneaky grin and replied, "If you don't give us half of the profits, you can't use our ideas."
Diethard was not fond of sharing that much of the profits, but he decided to agree to their plan. He shook their hands and said, "We're going to become super rich."
Emperor Charles replied, "After the products are done, you should have a big party. That way, you can advertise your new inventions, with excitement."
Diethard responded, "Another excellent idea. You guys rock." Diethard grabbed a guitar and started playing it, to symbolize how much the Emperor and Empress rocked.
Empress Marianne replied, "What an undignified way of complimenting someone, but we appreciate the sentiment."
The Emperor and Empress walked out of the Black Knights' hideout. Emperor Charles faced his wife, while saying, "That young and dumb Diethard guy sure knows how to get tricked. Your explanations for my silly product ideas were crazy, which is why that wacky news-boy man fell for them."
Empress Marianne replied, "Diethard's going to lose so much money. Most people won't want to buy the foolish products we suggested." They high-fived.
After work, Lelouch drove to C. C.'s house and knocked on the door. He was planning on saying a bunch of eloquent sounding words, so that C. C. would think he's mature and charming. C. C. opened the door and wasn't thrilled to see him, but she tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. She said, "Hello Lelouch. How can I help you?"
Lelouch tried to talk in a fancy sounding voice, while saying, "Greetings C. C. There's a certain amount of fineness to this day, that's hard to describe. I sure am aware of how beautiful life can be. The beauty of life is perfectly reflected by you, because you are true beauty."
C. C. said, "Those are nice words, but what do they have to do with anything?"
Lelouch explained, "I'm trying to use a more fancy way of speaking, so that you'll like me."
C. C. replied, "Lelouch, I want you to be a nicer person and to stop the immature antics. Wether or not you use fancy words, hardly matters. What's important is your morality."
Lelouch tried to maintain his dignity, while saying, "I have tons of morality. I'm like a DVD box set of morality."
C. C. had a confused look on her face, while asking, "What does that mean?"
Lelouch explained, "DVD box sets tend to have lots of episodes in one package, which is symbolic of how I have tons of morals in one brain."
C. C. was confused. She paused and said, "Please only come here, if you have an emergency or if you ever learn your lesson." Lelouch sighed and walked away.
C. C. walked back to her living room. Her friend, Shirley Fenette, looked at her and asked, "What's going on?"
C. C. said, "Lelouch keeps losing his marbles. It's hard to understand his nonsense."
Shirley asked, "Why do you put up with his antics?"
C. C. said, "Despite how immature, foolish, and weird Lelouch is, I think that he has potential to become a good person."
The next day, Lelouch went to work and put coffee on Suzaku's hair. Lelouch said, "I gave you hot hair."
Diethard walked up to Lelouch and said, "I'm afraid that you and the others are going to have tons of work."
Lelouch whined, "Come on."
Diethard replied, "I'm sorry. I like letting you slack off and pull pranks, but this adventure is important. We need to make non-explosive bombs and rocket-powered garbage cans. I had to hire more crew members, than usual."
Lelouch had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "That means that I'll have to do less work."
Diethard replied, "I guess so, but I expect you to do a moderate amount of work."
Lelouch responded, "Don't worry about it."
During the next few days, Diethard had the Black Knights make non-explosive bombs and rocket-powered garbage cans. Prince Schneizel spied on the event and hid in the shadows. He was trying to find out more details about Diethard's plans, so that he could make his own plan.
A week later, Diethard rented a fancy building. It had a reputation of being used for big events. It was a white on the outside and had an orange colored event room, that William was planning on using to show off his new products.
Mayor Takahata walked into the building and looked around. He said, "Diethard, did you get permission to use this building?"
Diethard sighed and replied, "I paid the stupid renter's fee."
Mayor Takahata responded, "Okay then. I'm glad to hear that you've invented some new products. It's important to make advancements. It's what make the progression of Earth so captivating and compelling."
Lelouch replied, "Well put."
Mayor Takahata pointed to Lelouch and said, "Stay out of trouble."
Lelouch replied, "Don't worry about it."
C. C. was outside the building, with Lloyd Asplund, the Earl of Pudding. She looked up and said, "I wonder what Lelouch and Diethard's latest money scheme is. I hope that it doesn't involve more legally questionable antics. I heard that they've been working on a business deal with Emperor Charles and Empress Marianne. I've heard a lot of bad things about those two. They're known to be quite the troublemakers."
Lloyd calmly replied, "You shouldn't be concerned. Lelouch and C. C. are super fun guys, so I'm sure it'll be an entertaining time."
C. C. said, "I'm worried about Lelouch and Diethard's greedy goals, not their entertainment value."
Lloyd replied, "Fair enough." Prince Schneizel was hiding, behind them. He listened to them, while thinking about his evil plan.
Meanwhile, Emperor Charles and Empress Marianne went to their fancy mansion. They had their servants buy fifty different outfits. Emperor harles looked at his wife and said, "We must reject forty nine mediocre outfits and pick the one that is worthy of us."
Empress Marianne replied, "Sounds like a glamorous experience."
One of Charles and Marianne's daughters, Princess Cornelia, walked in, munching on old carrots, and asked, "What's up doc?"
Empress Marianne replied, "What a terrible way to address your parents. You should be ashamed of yourself."
Princess Cornelia looked annoyed, while saying, "Give me a break."
Empress Marianne looked disgusted, while asking, "Are you eating expired carrots?"
Princess Cornelia calmly said, "They expire tomorrow, so they're still fresh."
Empress Marianne replied, "Those carrots are filthy. Stop eating that garbage and start trying on dresses."
Princess Cornelia sighed and asked, "Why?"
Emperor Charles explained, "Diethard Ried is having a fancy and wonderful party and it involves showing off our wonderful inventions. You'll have the honor of seeing us scam Diethard and Lelouch."
Princess Cornelia replied, "That sounds boring. I want to do fun stuff, like ride magical ponies and make mad hats."
Emperor Charles responded, "Stop talking weirdly and start preparing for the party." Princess Cornelia angrily growled and started heading to her room.
The next day, Lelouch and Diethard stood around and waited for the party to begin. They were expecting thousands of people, including tons of customers. However, hardly anybody came. They had spent so much on making non-explosive bombs and rocket-powered garbage cans, that it was clear they'd lose money. Lelouch nervously tapped his feet, while asking, "What's going on? How come people aren't coming?"
Emperor Charles and Empress Marianne walked in, with smug smiles on their faces. Princess Cornelia and she looked desperately bored. Charles said, "We tricked you into spending tons of money on products that wouldn't sell."
Lelouch had a horrified look on his face, while asking, "Why would you do such a thing?"
Empress Marianne grinned and replied, "We wanted to see your business crumble. You're rivals of ours and watching our rivals suffer and lose is a delightful experience."
Emperor Charles said, "I was expecting you to be gullible idiots, who wasted their fortune on the dumbest of things and wow, did you ever live up to that. You're probably ashamed of yourselves."
Empress Marianne added, "My husband and I are honored to be the ones who ruined your business lives. That's harshly and amusingly ironic, which is perfectly fitting for the world of business." The evil couple ran out, while doing an evil laugh. Princess Cornelia sighed and ran away. Prince Schneizel stood around in the shadows, while chuckling at Lelouch and Diethard.
Diethard looked back at Lelouch and said, "Zero, I'm really sorry about all this. I wanted to benefit the Black Knights' finical needs, but I crumbled my potential and acted like an idiot."
Lelouch patted Diethard's shoulder and replied, "It's okay, Diethard. Despite all the mistakes you made, you're still a better boss than I'd be."
Diethard had a relieved look on his face, while asking, "Really?"
Lelouch nodded and replied, "If I was still in charge of making decisions, I'd do the dumbest of things, like dance around and accidentally break this place. You may not be a good boss, but you're no zero." Diethard smiled and gave Lelouch a hug. The rest of the Black Knights were upset about Diethard losing them money, but Diethard was thankful that he didn't lose his friendship with Lelouch.
