Author's Note: Yo, yo all. Heh. Okay, so you all know what themes are. I've decided to write some. These are all Kel/Dom. I don't know how many themes I'll write. If you want pie, review!
Disclaimer: Any characters you recognize are Tamora Pierce's. Actually, pretty much everything you recognize is hers.
1. Gold
Staring at Kel during breakfast, a very tired Dom realized that her bright, unnaturally awake eyes had flecks of gold in them. Another realization dawned on him: he wouldn't trade a million gold nobles for her, her golden presence, or her gold-specked eyes.
And that didn't surprise him at all.
2. Clouds and Sweet Dreams
The night Kel borrowed a towel from Dom was a happy one for both of them. Kel fell asleep sniffing the towel and hugging it to her chest, thinking that it smelt exactly of Dom and felt as soft as clouds. She dreamt of her and Dom together kissing in the sky, his lips gentle on hers. Dom dreamt of Kel wrapped up in his towel.
Kel never did return that towel, and Dom never mentioned it.
3. Different Beauty
Dom thought Kel looked just as beautiful in a form-clinging dress and face paint as she did when she jousted, a determined, blazing look in her eyes. But he thought she looked absolutely radiant when she laughed: a smile spread across her face, her eyes lit up, and her giggle rang in his ears like wind-chimes.
4. Watching
Watching Dom dance with yet another giggling court lady covered in ten layers of face paint and wearing a poofy pink dress, Kel knew that the clown-like woman didn't deserve him, and neither did anybody else he ever flirted with. Gulping, she thought, except me.
5. Never
"Will you marry me?" Dom asked, almost whispering, his voice quivering with uncertainty.
Kel felt his hands tighten their grip on hers'. She giggled softly. "Of course, you dummy."
He smiled and they kissed, almost oblivious to the crowd around them. Vaguely, they could hear Yuki say, "Let's have the marriage soon, before Kel chickens out and Dom spots another lady."
Breaking apart, Dom and Kel glared at her and said simultaneously, "Never."
6. Fiercely
Dom cornered Kel, wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her fiercely. She kissed him back. Their mouths caressed each other. Suddenly she pulled back, her eyelids drooping. "I can't," she whispered.
"Why not?" Dom asked, alarmed.
"I promised the children I'd tell them a story." And with that, she ran off.
Her kindness and dedication just made Dom love her even more.
7. Blood
Seeing Dom with blood spurting from his leg and his face screwed up with pain hurt Kel more than anybody could know. "Neal!" she yelled hoarsely, her eyes never leaving him. "Come quickly! Please…you have to…"
8. Right
Tobe glared at Dom, his hands clenched in fists. "You'd better treat her right," he said in a hard voice.
Right away, Dom knows who 'her' is. "Don't worry," he said. "I will."
Tobe looks away, a sheepish expression on his face. "Good, 'cause…" he said awkwardly, "she talked a lot in her sleep when she's upset. It wakes me up." He runs away, avoiding his gaze.
Author's Note: Hm, those are hard to come up with. Suggestions? Comments? Review, please!
