"Hey, Zach. Thanks for taking me camping with you guys." I said as we climbed the mountain cliff. "Ha. I win Again. If you weren't so slow, you might have a chance Zach." I looked around to see where my best friend Zach had gone. "Okay. If this is a joke, you got me man." I called again. "Zach?" I called, now kind of scared. Then I saw something blur.
When the blur finally slowed I saw that it was a man in a ranger suit. "Ummm. Hi. Have you seen a boy, about 5 feet tall with black hair?" I asked him as he got closer. Then he disappeared. I felt a sharp crack, followed by a feeling of pain. Like something was burning me. Then I fell on the ground. I was faintly aware of two more people hovering over me. It seemed like they were holding the man. "Don't do this James. You already killed the one boy and people are starting to look."
"What do we do with this one then?" I heard the man say. "I guess we leave him in the woods and go now." I heard the woman say through the growing pain. Then I fell to the black pain of the fire.
I came to after what seemed like an eternity. The fire was still there, but it was dimming. I could finally think again. I raced through everything I remembered. It wasn't much. I remembered camping, my family, and pain. Then everything went black. Again.
When I came to again, the pain was gone. I looked around me and realized I was in a room. I got up and walked out the door. I nearly ran in to a girl. "Oh!" I started as I jumped back.
"Oh goody! You finally woke up. I'll go get Carlisle. You just stay put." She said as she ran down the stairs. "Okay" I said, very confused as I sat down. Then an older looking man walked in with the girl. "Uh. Hi" I said as I got up. "Thanks for taking care of me and all, but I think I am just going to go home now." I said as I walked towards them.
"You can't go home now." He said as I was trying to get out the doorway. "What?" I asked in disbelief as I turned to him. "You can't go home because… You are a Vampire."
"Say what" I said in disbelief. "Yes. You are." He replied as I sat down again. Then the girl ran up to me and pulled me up in to a colossal hug. "Oh, it will be so great to finally have a little brother!" she said as she hugged me. Then she danced out of the room. Then I turned to the man, who I remembered was called Carlisle and asked, "what about my parents?"
He replied by telling me that they had been told I was killed by a mountain lion. "Wow" I said as I sat there and he walked out of the room. I got up, looked out the window and saw two guys arm wrestling. "Those two must be part of my new family" I said to myself as I walked out of the room. I came downstairs to be swept up yet again in to a big hug. "Ummm" I said as she set me down.
"I'm Esme. I'm your new mom." She said.
