Cravings

"Daniel." Vala cooed, sending her most seductive look his way

"It's not going to happen, Vala." Daniel responded without looking away from his archaeology magazine.

"But, darling, you wouldn't be doing it only for me." she whined as she stood and walked toward him, removing the magazine from his hands and settling herself into his lap

"I'm not going to do it at all." he told her, rubbing a hand up and down her back in a soothing manner.

"It's not like I'm asking you to commit a crime." she pouted. "I thought you loved me."

"I do love you, otherwise we wouldn't even be having this conversation. But I am not willing to lose my job because of it."

"It's mostly your fault I'm having to ask. The least you could do is grant me this one small favour."

"I think you had a pretty big part in this, too." he snorted and she smacked his arm.

"I don't see what the big deal is. All I want is for you to make a trip to the market for me."

"Yeah, on another planet."

"But, Daniel-"

"I am not travelling to your home planet for a silly vegetable stew."

"Fine." she crossed her arms petulantly and glared. When he simply continued to grin, she stood with a huff and placed a hand on her protruding belly. "But when your child comes out holding a grudge against you, don't blame me."

Daniel laughed as he watched his very pregnant wife waddle out of the room. He'd known life with Vala would be interesting and he hadn't been disappointed.
