Daffodils 2
There weren't any flowers at the South Pole, but all her life Katara had loved flowers. The only ones she had ever really known of were bluebells and water lilies… that is until she began traveling with the Avatar. During her travels, Katara had found many flowers that were new to her, but just like every other girl, Katara had a favorite.
Of all the things in the world, Katara loved daffodils the most. If daffodils did not exist then the world would not be the same.
When Zuko had asked her what her favorite flowers were the other day she knew he was up to something.
Right now she was sitting and waiting for him in the royal gardens, like he'd asked her to. When he came into view with his hands holding something behind his back, she almost jumped with joy.
"Katara, I have a surprise for you and I think you're gonna like it," he announced, a playful smile stretched across his face.
Katara stood up and when he pulled his hands out from behind his back to present to her the bunch of bright yellow daffodils, she almost squealed.
He held them out to her and she ran up to him and hugged him.
"Thank you so much, Zuko!" she cried and she gently pecked him on the cheek.
"You're welcome," he blushed.
He handed her the flowers and she smelt them lovingly, her bright blue eyes gleaming with happiness.
"I'm going to go and put them in some water. Wanna come?" she offered.
"Uh… ok." His whole face went crimson.
She smiled slyly and took him by the hand and led him into her bedroom.
The daffodils were placed in a vase and put on her bedside table, near the window, in a pool of golden sunlight.
She and Zuko stood a meter away from each other in an awkward silence for a minute.
"So… what do you wanna do?" Zuko asked, blushing deeper still.
Katara smiled playfully at him, "Do you wanna just… sit down and talk?" she suggested.
"Uh… ok."
They both sat on the bed and the awkward silence commenced.
"So… um…"
Without warning, Katara launched herself on him, pushing him backwards onto the pillows. She kissed him gently on the lips and they both shut their eyes to enjoy the moment.
When they broke apart they sat up.
"Happy Valentine's Day," he smiled, remembering he had meant to say it earlier.
She giggled and kissed him again.
"I love you."
Fluff, fluff, fluff. Totally fluffy. :) But admit it – you love it.
