I suddenly had this idea when I was reading the newest chapter of One Piece. I hope that you enjoy it!

Disclaimer: I don't own One Piece or any of its characters, Oda does. I do however own the plot of this story.

I looked at the boy that was standing right in front of me, completely still. It had been raining for hours now, and yet he didn't even move. How much time had he been standing there? Probably hours, seeing how soaked he was. Not even his straw hat had prevented him from getting wet. The place had been full of people, but now only he remained here, completely alone. A cold breeze had taken hold of the whole cemetery, chilling me to the bones even though I was wearing a long black coat.

I hadn't wanted to come here at first. I wasn't a friend of him, of Luffy, and what had happened was none of my business, none of my business at all, no matter how I looked at it. Going to the funeral of Portgas D. Ace wasn't precisely one of my priorities. Hell, visiting his grave wasn't even on the priority list. Why then had I ended up here?

"Straw hat-ya" I suddenly said, trying to get the younger male's attention.

Seconds passed, and the other male didn't give any signs of having even heard me. With a sigh I started walking towards him, an emotionless expression adorning my face. Every single person in the town knew what had happened, every single one. Portgas D. Ace had been murdered, but no one knew by who or why. The only thing that was known was that he had had frequent contact with Whitebeard and his band, enough to be considered one of them, but nothing else was known. It was also said that he had died of horrible burns, and that only added more to the mystery to the whole event.

"Straw hat-ya" I said again, once I was right beside him.

The other male didn't respond for a few seconds, and just as I was about to call him again he suddenly looked at me with tears falling from his eyes and mixing with the rain. He didn't say anything at all and quickly started looking again at the grave where his brother was now buried at. I placed my hand on his shoulder suddenly, not really thinking of my actions.

"I'm sorry" I just said as I looked at the grave.

Luffy just continued looking at the grave, crying, but I knew that he had heard me. I felt a shiver going down my spine, but I ignored it and just stood beside Luffy, knowing that I was going to end up as soaked as him.
