GONE - He can't show it...He just can't. No matter how much it hurts, no matter how devastated he is, no matter how empty he feels, he has to stay strong. After all, a Lord is not allowed to show weakness.

Disclaimer: I do not own InuYasha or any of it's characters. I do, however, own this story. So, no stealing, got it? (:

She's gone. She's gone. She's gone. She's gone.

He couldn't get those words out of his head. They kept repeating over and over and over, and, each time they did, it was like a knife in the heart.

She's gone. She's gone. She's gone. She's gone. She's gone. She's gone.

He had to get away from these two. He needed to be alone, needed to regain control over himself again, or else he was going to break down in front of them.

"Where are you going, Mi'Lord?"

"Wait here."

He didn't even look back at them. He couldn't. He was afraid they would see how weak and vulnerable he really was right now. Afraid. Weak. Vulnerable. Those are words he never thought would describe him. Ever. … They couldn't be more true, though.

She's gone. She's gone.

This isn't right. He's a Lord for crying out loud! He's supposed to be feared, worshiped, and all-powerful. Yet, here he is, breaking down over one woman. One woman took away all power and strength he had in him, simply by leaving. Leaving. Leaving. He couldn't even bring himself to say the true word, couldn't even think it.

He wanted her back.

He … loved her.

He was never supposed to love anyone. Ever.

… But he loved – no, loves her. He'll always love her.

His father told him this would happen one day … told him he'd fall in love, told him everyone does at one point, whether they want to or not. He didn't want to, that's for sure, but he did. Back then, he didn't believe his father. He wanted to laugh at what he was saying; in fact, he had. Now, he sees just how right his father really was.

He couldn't take this. He feel to his knees, surrendering himself to the pain. He knew he had to deal with it now or it'd follow him everywhere he went.

"Father, I never thought I'd say this … but I need your help."

"With what?"

"How do I stop the pain? How do I become strong again?"

"Who ever told you feeling pain made you weak?"

"Are you saying it doesn't?"

"Yes. In fact, pain is what makes you strong, my son."

"How?"

"If you suffer no pain and make it through life, what does that show people? That you can make it through the good times? So what! We can all do that! But, to survive and push through pain...not everyone can do that. That is why it makes you strong. I am glad you have fallen in love and I'm sorry she was taken from you, but don't give up. Loving and feeling pain is not what makes you weak, it's not loving and never feeling pain that defines a weak man."

"How do I deal with it, though? …She's gone."

"It won't be easy, I'm not going to lie. But I believe in you, son. You are strong."

"I just want her back …"

"And one day, you will. Until then, you have to keep fighting."

"But she's gone."

"No, Sesshomaru. She isn't gone … She'll always be with you."

Sesshomaru felt something sliding down his cheek. Cautiously, he raised his hand and used a finger to brush at it. It was … wet. He was crying? Impossible.

No, it was possible. Because, the woman he loved was gone … she was … dead.

"Kagura, I love you … and I wish you were here."

Okay, so that was really short and really stupid but yup, there you have it. We all know Sesshomaru loved Kagura...It was made very clear in both the anime and the manga. (Actually, maybe not so much the anime. But, in the manga it was!) I wanted this to be a bit more depressing and deep than it turned out to be, but oh well. One day, I'll probably go back and rewrite it, but for now, what you see, is what you get. (:
