Important Note: This story takes place at some point prior to the premiere of Animaniacs.

Call Me Dottie And You Die

Dot waited in the alley outside a studio sound stage, leaning against the side of the building with her arms crossed and a mirthless expression on her face.

She already knew why he had asked her to meet him there, though he had yet to tell her. She had felt it coming for some time now, just as she now felt him approaching from within the building she currently leaned against. As expected, he soon appeared at the door just a few yards to the right of her.

"So..." Buster began. "You made it."

"I'm always punctual when it comes to breakups." Dot said, not bothering to look up.

"That obvious, huh?" Buster asked.

Dot shrugged, still not bothering to look his way.

"What can I say, it was silly to think that you and Babs would never become more than just an on screen couple in the first place. The two of you were literally made for each other after all. And a Toon is naturally drawn to the person they were made for. It's just the way of things really... I almost don't even blame you for what's happening. Still... for a while there... I was starting to hope that maybe the two of us could be an exception to the rule..." Dot said, her tone growing wistful towards the end.

"Dot... I..."

"No no, no need for apologies. Out with the old and in with the new as they say. I can live with it." Dot said with a dismissive gesture, straightening up and removing herself from the wall as she turned to leave. "But don't think you can talk to me after this." She added, turning back to meet eyes with him for the first time. "I'll be seeing you around since I live here and all. But that's it. Just being friends is not an option here." She finished, turning to leave once again.

Buster couldn't let it end like this. He had to make her understand. Let her know their relationship hadn't simply been something meaningless to him. He reached to stop her.

"Wait... Dottie... I..." Buster started, just before abruptly being cut off by a slap to the face.

"Don't you dare call me that." Dot said with a smoldering intensity that was felt without her so much as raising her voice. "That's what you called me before you chose her. You call me Dottie and you die." She said. Buster simply stood there, speechless.

"I'm leaving now." Dot announced, turning away once again. Buster made no move to stop her this time. It was truly over at that point. It would be the last they spoke to each other for years to come.

End

(A.N) Once again, Dot and Buster are roughly the same age in this story, though Dot played as a younger character on Animaniacs. As usual, any who wish to expand on this story in one way or another, can feel free to do so. All I ask is a small mention in the author's notes if you do. Of course, if no one is interested. Then by all means, disregard my previous statement.

On a separate note, my apologies to any who might be awaiting the next chapter of The Warner Bride. I seem to be having quite a bit of trouble with that one. But not to worry, I fully intend to finish it. Yada yada, anything else I would've considered saying here has long since escaped me. Good day to you all.

Disclaimer-I don't own Animaniacs. I don't pretend to own Animaniacs. And I'm not making any money off this story.
