And he is there, surrounded by a bunch of guys dressed like him and singing back-up vocals. And that's not right. Because maybe you're not the brightest bulb in the box but you know that Kurt Hummel wasn't born to be in the crowd. He was born to be the star, to leave everyone impressed, to shine. Even someone like you has those goosebumps when he sings with that angelic voice.
You take a deep breath and clench your fists trying to control the urge to go on stage and break the singer's face. Because he's stealing your Kurt and you hate it. What remains of the Kurt you all knew? He seems to be another person; he wears a uniform while doing background vocals.
Everyone is smiling at him. And it's great that they are happy for him, but you can't. Neither you nor Mr. Shue. But for different reasons, sure. He must be thinking that the Warblers are great and that you all will lose and you ... you don't really care about it.
Would it be so terrible if Glee Club ended? Of course you would miss them all ... but a part of you says it does not matter. Because Glee Club is nothing without Kurt Hummel. Because Glee Club exists to let people express themselves, people like Kurt Hummel. And you all have failed him.
Because suddenly, he was no longer the guy he was before. He looked smaller than ever, he stopped fighting for solos, he seemed frightened every single time he walked alone through the corridors. And it makes you want to punch somebody. Because, despite all the times you throw him in dumpsters or slushied him, you never saw him tremble or shed a tear. Never. And that damn Karofsky did it, and you are going to discover how. Because Kurt Hummel may be many things, but he is not a coward. Not at all.
And once you find what happened, you'll fix it. Kurt will walk through the halls of McKinley again as if he were the king.
You will do it, even if you have to destroy the bullies who made his life a hell, even if it means stop being Puck and start being Noah. For him. Just for him.
