Here's my first songfic in Fanfiction.net. Firstly, I would like to thank
my favorite Christopher Magician, who has given me the inspiration and the
passion to become an author here.
This songfic, entitle "It Might Be You", was originally composed by Stephen Bishop back in early 80's, and it was also a Love Theme for a 1982 movie, "Tootsie".
The reason why I had chosen this song to be a Love Hina songfic is because it reminded me about Keitaro, who was constantly thinking about his promised girl (Mutsumi), before he stayed in Hinata Sou. Remember in the first episode when he dreamt about himself celebrating with the girl he made his promise with? This songfic happened before Keitaro moved in to Hinata Sou,
Well, here is it, my first songfic,
Keitaro walked in the streets of Hinata City. Looking around, he saw happy couples walking past him. He sighed when he saw them walking, holding hands,
"I wonder where she is right now," Keitaro sighed.
Keitaro remembered that little girl, who made that promise with him several years back,
"Do you know that if two lovers get into Toudai, they will find happiness together?"
"When we grow up, let's go to Tokyo University!"
Yes, this were the lines from that girl's sweet voice he remembered very clearly till this day, even though many years had passed, he still couldn't forget it, He has passed his time studying to get into Toudai, just for the girl he wanted to fulfill his promise with, But right now, he's worried whether she will still remember him, it's been a long time since they've first met, then, as if in an instinct, a song played in his mind, a song which he heard before, the song which reminded him about his promised girl,
Keitaro begin to sing in his heart.
Time,
I've been passing time watching trains go by
All of my life
Lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you
All of my life
Right now in the park, Keitaro saw even more happy couples along the jogging track beside the pond,
Looking back as lovers go walking past
All of my life
Wondering how they met and what makes it last
If I found the place
Would I recognize the face
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah it's telling me it might be you
Everyone was in the season of love while he was walking all alone, amidst the lovers in the park he was strolling in.
So many quiet walks to take
So many dreams to wake
And we've so much love to make
Oh, I think we've gonna need some time
Maybe all we need is time
And it's telling me it might be you
All of my life
Keitaro saw a familiar-looking girl walking several meters away from him, his spirits raised, he knew that it's the promised girl he was looking at, he paced up, to walk up to her,
I've been saving love songs and lullabies
And there're so much more
No one's ever heard before
Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah, it's telling me it must be you
And I'm feeling it'll just be you
All of my life
But as Keitaro walked faster, the girl seemed to get even further and further,
Baby, it's you (it's you)
Baby, it's you (it's you)
I've been waiting for all of my life
The girl turned to face Keitaro, she smiled, but much to his surprise, she faded away. His mind had been playing tricks on him. Keitaro walked back home with misty eyes.
