Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world

Flora Reinhold's eyes shifted once more to the vacant room of Professor Hershel Layton. It simply was not fair. He and Luke always ran off on adventures without her, always leaving her by her lonesome self.

Well, she figured, there's a first for everything.

She took the midnight train goin' anywhere

It was called the Molentary Express, was it not?

Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit

Clive Dove sighed. Nothing exciting ever happened around these parts, and he was in the mood for an adventure.

He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

Time to get my wish, he told himself with a smirk.

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume

For a smile they can share the night

It goes on and on and on and on

Janice did have quite the lovely voice, both Clive and Flora recalled. But only half of their attention was on the music.

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard

Their shadows searching in the night

"But I swear I saw her, Professor!"

"Me too, my boy. Now where could she have run off to?"

Streetlights people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night.

London nights foretold strangers, mystery, puzzles, all of that stuff of excitement. Flora, on the other hand, did not concern herself with that in the slightest. She merely held Clive's hand, and that was all there was.

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill

"Excuse me, sir, but could you please help me out with this puzzle?"

"We're in a hurry."

"Luke, a true gentleman never declines the invitation to help others in need."

Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose

"Here's my answer, Professor!"

The archaeology and wit master chuckled lightly to himself. "And a fine answer it is, my boy."

Some were born to sing the blues

Don Paolo watched these scenes play out from afar. "Curse you, Layton!" The Professor had it all. He had taken away so much from Don Paolo. But this wasn't over yet. Oh, no. It was far from over.

Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

"Look at that, Clive!" Flora giggled. The two had relocated to the entertainment car for a viewing of the newest film. Sure, Flora had access to the best of the best technology growing up, but she never had anyone with which to share it. She was living her own movie now, one of excitement, and adventure, and romance.

Clive squeezed her hand a little tighter, and she knew that she wanted this moment to last forever.

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'

"Another puzzle solved for Layton's apprentice!"

Streetlights people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on

Surveying them from afar, Don Paolo banged his fist on the table. "Layton! I will get you!"

Streetlights people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'

"Thank you for tonight, Clive."

The young man tipped his azure hat towards her. "Pleasure's all mine. Now, you'd best run along home before the Prof goes haywire looking for you."

Streetlights people

"Oh, look, a hint coin underneath that streetlight!"
