A Linseride one shot for Sydcasy as a thank you for the 200th review of Baby Severide. I really appreciate your commitment to my work and I hope you enjoy this as well :D

Disclaimer: While I've spent the better part of my day with these characters they aren't mine.

"Hey Lindsay, you coming to Molly's?" Halstead asked, skipping to catch up with her. They'd just closed a week long case, bringing down a narcotics dealer who's wares had caused four deaths. The intelligence unit were ready to kick back with a beer in hand, Lindsay just wanted to get home. Something better was waiting for her.

"Nope, I have plans" Lindsay replied, puling out her car keys as she continued to walk.

"Ooh?" He questioned.

"You just can't compete with pizza, beer and a fireman" She informed honestly, laughing at the expression he pulled.

"Ugh...Have fun" He replied, his disapproval obvious. She didn't care, even if she did have to supply the pizza and beer herself. They separated as they reached their cars, Erin destined for a pizza place then a bottle shop on her way to Kelly Severide's apartment. Knocking on the door was difficult, pizza box in one hand and a six pack in the other, settling on kicking it with the toe of her boot. It didn't make much of a noise and she was just starting to work out a way to hold both items in one hand when Kelly's roommate Leslie Shay pulled open the door.

"Oh...Hi" Shay said, shifting her bag on her shoulder.

"Hi" Erin replied, hoping the bag wasn't because Kelly had kicked her out for the night. They danced around each other carefully so that Erin entered the apartment while Shay exited.

"He's on the couch, good luck" Shay said quickly, looking eager to get away.

"Luck?" Erin questioned but it was too late, Shay had disappeared in the brief moment Erin had looked over her shoulder. One look at Kelly and she understood. He was sick. His eyes were red, puffy and excessively watery. Red nose and scattered tissues confirming her assessment. That and the fact that he was curled pathetically under an old, tattered blanket, barely big enough for a small child.

"Hey" Kelly said, screwing up his face to sneeze loudly.

"Hey" She replied, still firmly rooted to the spot, she could almost feel the germs she was inhaling. Erin Lindsay could not stand being sick. It scared her more than anything else, even getting shot and killed. Formulating a plan she waited for him to sneeze again, he's just sat there staring at her with dopey eyes, wheezing slightly. Taking a deep breath she held it as she moved towards him practically throwing the pizza box and beer onto the coffee table before retreating.

"What are you doing?" He asked, voice small and childlike.

"I'm sorry, I can't get sick. Get well soon" She said as she made for the door.

"You can't leave me, Shay already left me...I don't want to die alone" He whined, completely pathetic.

"You're not going to die?" She replied, losing confidence as she spoke, he did look terrible and the fuss he was making was out of character as well. She'd watched him battle through various work related injuries without a complaint. Surely this had to be more than a cold.

"I'm pretty sure this is it" He said, tears threatening to spill as he reached for another tissue.

"Just eat some pizza, take some medicine and go to bed. Heck, take the medicine with the beer, all of it" She prescribed though it was probably a dreadful recommendation.

"If you love me you won't leave me" He pleaded, they'd been seeing each other for a few months. It was mostly physical but he was making an effort to take her on proper dates as well. They definitely hadn't reached the point where they were exchanging the three little words. That was more commitment than either of them were willing to make.

"Kelly, I have work. I can't get sick" She tried to explain, unfortunately she was starting to question her need to leave. If she was careful she might not catch it.

"It's not contagious" He said with great conviction.

"Sure" She accepted sarcastically taking yet another step backwards, any further and she wouldn't even be able to see him.

"No I'm serious, Shay's a paramedic and she said so" He nodded assuredly.

"Right, was this before or after she left with enough clothes to last a week?" She challenged, it was an exaggeration but he was too sick to call her out over it.

"Please don't leave me like this" He begged one last time.

"Alright, I'll stay." She caved, feeling guilty before she'd even left. "But only if you promise to stay over there" She added, wishing she hadn't sacrificed the entire pizza to the quarantine zone.

"Thank you"

"Eat something so you can go to bed" She instructed, pulling a bar stool from the kitchen as close as she felt was safe, close enough to see the television but far enough away to miss half of what was being said.

"Pizza...Beer?" He offered holding out one of each. Erin shook her head watching as he picked all of her favourite ingredients off the pizza. He ate a single piece, coughing on the crumbs of the crust before collapsing back on the couch, groaning loudly. Erin's plan was to make him eat, feed him what ever pain pills she could find then throw him into bed and leave. Part one was complete so she started looking for a stash of medicines, the bathroom cabinet was empty leaving her stumped.

"Where do you store medicines?" She asked him when she returned to the living room.

"Kitchen, the cupboard above the fridge" He croaked, desperate for a glass of water.

"Okay" She nodded, moving to assess the choices she hoped to have. Shay clearly didn't deal with many medical emergencies at home, the cupboard a complete disaster. Sorting through she eventually found some cold and flu tablets, popping out two of the night time variety. With a glass of water in one hand and the tablets in the other she was set to carry out part two. It did however mean getting closer to him, arms length was way out of her comfort zone. She handed him the tablets and water, he drained the glass without thinking, requiring a refill in order to take the tablets. Erin definitely didn't have the patience for a repeat, physically forcing the tablets into his mouth before handing him the glass.

"Thank you" He smiled seemingly unfazed by her rough and direct approach.

"Up to bed then" She suggested.

"But I'm watching this" He complained, turning back to the ridiculous looking game show, contestants were asked to compete a highly complicated obstacle course in a certain amount of time. When they did all they won was a chance at an even more difficult course, the seemed delighted.

"Kelly you need to sleep if you want to get better" She explained, hoping it would be enough.

"It's too late for that, you just have to make me comfortable in my last few hours" He said sadly, pulling the blanket up to his chin, exposing his knees in the process.

"Shut up and get to bed" She said firmly, reaching for the remote to turn off the television. Once the screen was black he got to his feet, stumbling after each step as he made his way to the base of the stairs. Erin couldn't risk him falling down so she was forced to help him up the stairs. From there she helped him get ready for bed before eventually tucking him in. She waited with him until his hand relaxed enough to release hers. He was so calm and peaceful while sleeping that she didn't think twice before kissing his forehead, feeling stupid as soon as she realised. "If I get sick I'm going to kill you" She whispered to herself as she made her way downstairs, cleaning up a little before leaving him to recover. Immediately after arrival at her own apartment she took a hot shower, allowing herself to relax before bed.

Erin knew before she even opened her eyes or moved. She was sick. All her muscles ached and she could barely breathe. Hauling herself out of bed she pulled on comfortable clothes and rushed to Kelly's place. Determined to make him regret infecting her. It took twenty minutes of furious pounding on his door to gain entry, too exhausted to throttle him on the spot. She took the couch while he rested on an armchair, still dragging the stupid blanket everywhere he went.

"What's with the blanket?" She asked when she ran out of ways to occupy herself.

"My mum would get it out every time I was sick as a child, I found it when I was cleaning the other day" He explained, snuggling up with the item.

"Great, we don't just have the flu we have everything you ever caught as a child. We're definitely going to die" She concluded, more frustrated than before.

"At least we wont be alone" He smiled, having had more time to come to terms with his imminent demise.

"I don't know, the moment I can lift my arms I'm going to kill you. Then I'll be able to die alone" She said with a satisfied smile.

"I thought you were here to look after me" He said, sounding hurt.

"No, I'm here to kill you. You infected me you lying idiot" Erin said, certain that if she could use this much energy to talk she could at least trip him down the stairs to kill him.

"I love it when you insult me. It's quite a turn on" Kelly laughed.

"Can you shut up, I'm trying to die" She requested, noticing their depleted tissue supply.

"And you thought I was being dramatic, I'm sorry you had to catch it to understand. At least we have each other" He said, ignoring her request for peace in order to remind her of their situation.

"Shut up" She groaned, reaching for a cushion to hold against her head.

"We're dying right?" He questioned. It was all he'd gone on about all morning so she wasn't sure this wasn't a sign of decline.

"Yes" She answered calmly.

"Well I don't know about you but I kind of have a last wish" He explained.

"I can't think of anything" She concluded frustratedly after taking a moment to think.

"I can" He grinned.

"Fine, what do you want?" She asked, somehow knowing it was going to be something stupid.

"Sex" He answered as if it was the most obvious thing.

"I can't breathe for all the snot, I sneeze every few minutes and it hurts to move..." She put forward, each a valid reason all on its own.

"But it's my last wish, you can't deny me" He laughed.

"I can and I have, shut up" She commanded, rolling to hide her face between the back and seat of the couch.

"Please, it'll be quick" He enthused.

"No" She refused adamantly.

"Well it was nice knowing you, quite fun at times" Kelly teased, magically knowing just what to say to aggravate her.

"Quite fun?" She demanded, she'd grown up surrounded by blokes and she knew 'quite fun' was a terrible description of capabilities in the bedroom. Especially hers.

"Yeah, could be better. I think you could still redeem yourself" He suggested.

"I don't need to redeem myself, I'm good, great, spectacular, amazing..." She argued, running out of synonyms surprisingly quickly. Blaming the headache for her her inability to be more more articulate.

"Prove it" He challenged. She groaned, he knew she couldn't resist a challenge.

"Come here" She demanded, ignoring the pain in her joints as she removed her clothes quickly. By the time he had reached the couch he too wore only underwear. He sat down, she shifted onto his lap, running her hands over his chest and down his arms. An exercise in self control as he struggled not to let her hands have any effect. Her lips however were an entirely different story, by the time she'd kissed her way to the waist band of his pants he could think of nothing other than the relief she was about to provide. Discarding his final item of clothing along with her own was a liberating experience, now nothing stood between them. Having invested so much energy already Erin was struggling to remain focused. Kelly took control, laying her down gently before spreading her legs and positioning himself. "I can't breathe" She complained as he pressed himself into her.

"I have that effect on people" He laughed.

"No I need a tissue" She clarified, holding his hips firmly in place with her thighs until he supplied one. After blowing her nose she questioned what they were even doing. They definitely weren't dying if they could still experience such pleasure.

"You alright?" He questioned, starting a steady rhythm of thrusts as she automatically rolled her hips to match him.

"Yes" She answered, just because she couldn't explain it didn't mean she didn't want it.

"God that's amazing" He commented when she sneezed for the third time, clenching around him completely unintentionally.

"Well I'm glad you're enjoying this" She complained. Feeling neglectful he was quick to make sure she felt just as good as he did, coaxing her to the edge. Then sending her over with no warning. It took her twice as long as usual to regain her breath, fighting the mucus build up in her chest. He handed her the last tissue as he moved off her, having found his own release concurrently. "Wait" She said accepting the tissue with a thoughtful look on her face.

"What?" He asked.

"I'm using the last tissue...You haven't used one at all in the last hour, in fact you've barely touched one all day" She realised, narrowing her eyes as she suddenly made sense of his actions.

"So it turns out I'm not dying, in fact I'm feeling much better. You can tell yourself it was the sex but I'm pretty sure it's actually only a twenty-four hour bug" He revealed, deciding that coming clean now was the safest option.

"You are a horrible person" She complained, shaking her head in disgust.

"Not really, you still feel like you're dying and I know that that was your last wish as well" He answered, very sure of himself.

"I can't believe you" She said indignantly, still trying to fathom his expert manipulation.

"I'm sorry, we couldn't waste a perfectly fine weekend" He supplied as a partial apology.

"You are such a guy. And you might be but I am definitely not perfectly fine!" She argued.

"I'll look after you until you're better" He offered as the remainder.

"Alright, go buy more tissues, and the ingredients for chicken soup. None of that packet nonsense I'll write you a recipe" She informed as he located his clothes and pulled them on.

"Seriously?" He asked, though there was no doubt it had been worth it.

"You owe me" She reminded firmly.

"I don't really understand how I owe you...but I do feel bad that you're sick" He replied.

"Good, get a pen and some paper. And hand me a blanket" She ordered. "Not that one" She added quickly when he moved to grab his tattered old comfort item. He supplied a different blanket then left her to rest while he rushed to the shops. She was asleep when he returned, only waking when the soup was nearing completion, the wonderfully revitalizing fragrance filling the air. The soup was great but far from her last request as she made him pay for his extortion. Beer and pizza on Friday night turned into a long weekend of catering to her every whim.

Not my greatest work by any means...I'd still love a review though :D
