He had warned him. So many times he had told him not to get involved, that he'll only get hurt in the end. The little boy refused to listen, refused to let go of his robotic arm cannon. He had whispered a promise of love which only came off bittersweet on his tongue.
He had known that the person- no, the android- he had claimed to love was built upon living past that of a normal person. He refused to listen as he hugged his dear sweet in his skinny small arms which surprised him with the amount of strength the arms had.
Now, in the hospital that boy laid. The loving little boy laid on the clean white bed as the inhuman cried beside him. A hand touched at the blue helmet. Words were whispered, words of comfort. All the android could do was look up at that smile and cry.
"You should have told me..." His voice cracked for only a second. "Why didn't you...?"
"Because you worry too much..." His cheeriness shone within his voice which was much more quieter than usual.
"Your asthma though..." A hand gripped the blue helmet gently. "I-I didn't know that the gases from my constant fighting and regenerating energy were hurting you..."
The boy laughed as he took off the blue helmet, revealing messy brown hair.
"You didn't know. You don't have to worry," he said softly as he stroked the android's cheek.
"But -"
The boy sat up and leaned over to the android. He cupped his cheeks in his hands and brushed his lips against the other's.
"There's no need to worry, I get out tomorrow. Asthma isn't all that bad, so there's no need for panic."
"But Villager..." His voice trailes off. "You almost got killed because of me."
"I love you Mega Man. I refuse to leave you because of it," Villager said. "My asthma won't stop me from loving you."
"But -" Mega Man was cut off by another kiss.
"Stop. It's not good to worry..." Mega Man nodded and stood up, grabbing his helmet. "Don't leave..."
Mega Man smiled.
"You want me to stay here with you until you sleep?" Mega Man asked.
Villager nodded. Mega Man chuckled as he took his seat, placing his helmet on. Villager had his eyes slowly shut as his head leaned to one side. Mega Man couldn't help but feel a little elated seeing that peaceful sleeping face. However, he thought of something.
Villager is a human who won't live that long. He was made to last forever. What would happen once Villager died? Nothing? Will he be able to move on? If that's the case then what's the point of even loving him like this? He'll only get hurt in the end if he sticks to Villager any longer.
He wants him though. He loves him. He doesn't want to leave his side no matter what. What is he to do? He had already become attached enough that leaving him would hurt him. Maybe... Maybe he should just not think about it and wait until that time comes to worry. Is that what Villager would want?
...
AN: This is just a quick contribute to the MegaVil fandom.
In all of my stories Villager has asthma. This is why he lives far out with animals in their peaceful town, because the air is clean enough for him not to worry. His asthma is evident within Thousand Years Melody where he's thrown into the hospital after the fire incident with Lucas.
As for Mega Man, I imagine him letting out gases and steam to run him. They don't show but it's there.
