Her trust in them had been broken. Her hurt and frustration had reached their peak. Right now, she wasn't sure of anything anymore.
Becky Botsford had just been "mega-grounded" for missing the Botsford Family Feast twice. She had been investigating and stopped Dr. Two Brains' crime. Now, she was in trouble because of him. She looked all around her now-colorless and lifeless room. This isn't my room, she thought. It's a prison cell. She remembered the last, and hopefully only, time she had been in jail.
Eileen, the Birthday Girl, had stolen the "Pretty Princess" figurines and Becky, having gone to the scene of the crime, saw a Penelope Pony figuring that was left behind and took it with her as evidence. When she, as Wordgirl, was discovered with the figurine, she was arrested and placed in jail. It wasn't until later that she cleared her name. But this time, being mega-grounded seemed unforgivable. Then she remembered all those times she had gotten into trouble with her family and friends. She realized that if being a superhero led to this for her secret identity, maybe she couldn't lead both lives anymore.
"That's it, Bob," Becky said as she stood up from the foot of her bed. "I can't do this anymore." Bob squeaked worriedly, "*What are you going to do?*" "Bob," she said in a solemn tone, "I can't keep living my life like this." She got out her spare notebook from underneath her bed and sighed, "Thank goodness this was left here." Then, she wrote in her notebook and super speed.
She ripped out the paper and placed it on the bed. She then proceeded to put her knee on the windowsill. Bob squeaked out, "*Becky, no! What are you doing?!*" She turned to him and said, "I'm sorry, Bob, but you can't come with me. Not this time. This is good-bye."
She climbed halfway out of the window and said, "Word up." As she flew off at super speed, Bob screeched to her, "*Becky! Becky!*"
Wordgirl arrived at her spaceship hideout moments later. She walked around her hideaway with sadness, guilt, hurt, and frustration. She then came to her bulletin board with mug shots of her villains. She could only respond in anger and threw the bulletin board out into the hallways. All of the mug shots of the villains laid on the ground, save for two. Wordgirl wrote a note on the back of Dr. Two Brains' mug shot in hopes that her dear frenemy would understand her situation, the one he put her in. Then she folded up another mug shot and put it in her cape.
She then went into another room where she kept photos and memorabilia of her normal life. But this proved to be too much for Wordgirl, for now she was filled with anger. She shouted as she threw almost every photo and ripped scrapbook page out the door, "You ungrateful fools! You don't appreciate all the work I do for you, and yet, I always get into trouble for it! Maybe I should be just Wordgirl, a full-time superhero with no worries or cares about leading a regular life! But you can't see all I do for you…" She continued in a softened and breaking voice, "…because you don't know who I really am."
She looked at one photo of her entire family and ripped out a piece with her in it. She took the rest of the photo and placed it in her cape as well. She decided to leave a message for all of the citizens of Fair City so they wouldn't worry about it. She recorded herself and left the recording in the computer for Captain Huggy Face to find. Before she finally took off to parts unknown, she wanted to do one last thing…
