"I thought that we were trapped,"
Sunlight streamed through the ashen whips of cloud that swirled as pale cloaks across the rain washed heavens. They created shivers of dappled gold to flicker across the silent figure that stood with his bare feet resting on the very edge of a cliff. Below him swirled the tumult sea, roiling storm churned waters that were the same alluring azure hue as his lovers. His cloak the same color crimson as freshly spilled blood swirled around his chiseled shoulders as broken tattered wings, ripped and torn from battle.
"I thought we could get away,"
Eyes as evergreen as the forbidden forest of Eden, blazed with triumph and still held the heated madness of battle. Beside him lay his helm the bronze gleaming dully in the tempest washed sunlight. His sword as deadly as the maw of a dragon rested in the grass next to his Lakonian boots. He stared out to sea, silent as his hoplite army milled around behind him refreshed from the fury of the storm.
"Now I am silently calling your name, wishing like a desperate man on his knees before the celestial gods,"
A gentle hand feel upon his shoulder, and a smile broke across his face, transforming his features from the cruel visage of a warrior to that of a noble prince. He shrugged the hand off and turned to face his lover the shy grin still on his face.
"Every day I feel this pain,"
He ran his hands through blond hair torn loose from its braids in battle. He was snared and brought low by eyes the color of sapphire. A gale sprang from the sea behind him and the sun kissed skin of his lover began to fall to ash. He reached out and tried to grab him close, in anguish, sought to save him as his body tumbled to cinders.
"I can't…keep hanging on,"
The light of the sun faded to gloom, and the prince, broken, fell to his knees. Ash poured from his fingers, his armor, undone, tumbled from his shoulders as nothing. The wind swept up the remains of his lover, swirled, around his body fastening the ashes to his skin, marking him with his lover's death. A permanent reminder of what he had done an eternal punishment for his sins. He opened his clenched fist and stared at the silver band that still glimmered there among the pure ethereal embers of his lover. Tears blurred his vision and he closed his eyes, visions of the one he loved, laughing, fighting, loving played across his memory, and something inside his soul snapped. It roared through his body with all the avenging wrath of a god. It galloped though his veins, searing his blood on inferno laced feet and slammed into him with such a force he twitched. His face contorted in a mask of pure fury and above him the heavens matched his temper. Blue skies now ebony black danced with spindles of lightening. His shoulders heaving with unbridled rage, his teeth clenched so hard his jaw ached. Rain began to pour down cascading over his newly stained skin. And slowly his enemies closed in; soon they would be met with a swift and vengeful death.
"I can't keep hanging on, to you and me,"
