Panda Slippers

Disclaimer: I-S-D-O-F-P. That stands for I-Still-Don't-Own-Flashpoint, by the way.

:: School really stresses me out so I decided to do this. Writing makes me feel better, in some way. This totally came out differently from the original plan. It's one of those times where the story is just sort of writing itself, y'know. Hope you like it :)

"And here I thought you would still be sleeping,"

Jules turned her head from the window and found Sam leaning against the door, smirking. She thought it was pretty thoughtful that he took some time to see her before going to HQ, but the knowledge that he was free to go –everywhere- while she's stuck in the hospital bed frustrated her somehow.

"Are you disappointed that I visited this early or because you're waiting for someone else? Or perhaps because I'm here, at all?" He teasingly asked, knowing full well what made her pout.

"I need to get out of this stupid bed," Jules frowned.

"No can't do, Sweetheart. And no, don't even try to think to escape; that wouldn't look good in your resume," Sam walked closer and landed a kiss on her forehead before putting down the paper bag he brought with him. "Good morning to you, by the way,"

"What do you have there?" Jules asked.

Sam grinned, looking almost proud. "Your bunny slippers. I took the liberty to go into your house and grab them. Thought it would make you feel homey and less homesick,"

"-Panda- slippers, Sam. Seriously, why is it so hard for you to remember things?" Jules scolded. "Just like that time with Santorini –Sky-…,"

"Well, they look like bunnies to me," Sam shrugged.

"Yeah, and you look silly," Jules pointed out.

"Jules, we're not going to argue over your –slippers-,"

"How about over your short-term memory?" She retorted although her lips had twitched into a tiny smile. Sam was such a breath of fresh air that she probably needed in her life she sometimes took too seriously. Oh yeah, she didn't need Sarge or Dr. Luria to tell her; she knew that she beat herself too much sometimes… most of the time.

Sam's answer was a short, heartfelt kiss. When he pulled away moments later, Jules snorted. "You did that because you knew you couldn't give me a better answer," Let's say that while Sam was not really good in negotiating bad guys, he wasn't the best in outtalking her either.

"I did that because you're my girlfriend and you're beautiful," Sam said, grinning that boyish smile and making her heart beat faster. Okay, so he wasn't born to be a negotiator but he definitely had the gift to make her blush. Damn. Before she could reply, he reached into the bag and retrieved a plastic water bottle. "And, in addition to the –panda- slippers, I also brought your favorite protein mango breakfast smoothie,"

He was probably hoping for a big kiss or a praise, but all she could think of was, "Did you use my blender? You clearly remembered to use cold water to rinse it, didn't you?"

Sam laughed and tousled her hair. "Isn't this supposed to be the moment you tear up and tell me that I'm such an amazing boyfriend? And again, I'm not going to argue with you over some blender, geez, Jules,"

"How about your short-term memory? You forgot, didn't you? I just knew-,"

And he kissed her. Again.

Because 'she was his girlfriend and she was beautiful.'

Or probably because he just couldn't outwit her.

I hope you remember about the panda slippers. They were mentioned in Exit Wounds :)
