The Nether Prince was truly a sight, Ant decided, for he had never seen anyone much like him before.

To be honest, Ant would have been lying if he had said he'd been surprised to have visits from suitors shortly after his eighteenth birthday, all with attempts to court the Aether Prince since he was of legal age after all.

What Ant didn't expect was that one of these suitors would be none other than the Nether Prince himself, CaptainSparklez.

The Nether Prince was a fair bit taller than himself, with a more deep colored skin and, much like that of his father, had pearl white eyes that glowed faintly, and though the Nether Prince looked calm enough, Ant could tell that there was a deep mattress of nervousness and anxiousness covered by a thin blanket of confidence.

"You came without your father's authorization." Ant merely stated.

"That is far from what I've come to talk about, and is, as well, far from your concern, either." The other Prince replied, the corners of his lips tugging upwards into a soft smile as he finished. Ant assumed that it was an act of friendliness.

Or not. Ant had heard much about beings that lurked within the Nether Lands before- half of them being horrifying beyond belief, and the other half being highly unpleasant and disturbing. Yes, don't let him fool you, Ant. "Of course," he said with a faint sigh, "And you are here to court me? What is it that you want? A bed warmer?"

"Ah, a far cry from what I'd had in mind- but I wouldn't protest if that is what you want-" Sparklez shot Ant a grin at this, "-though I have doubt in that, from someone who has much dignity as yourself."

"So what is it that you had in mind?" Ant asked, sounding rather impatient.

"Well, this is much wordy, but to make it short, both of our realms have been at a -to put it lightly- disagreement for quite a long while- I was hoping that, through marriage, that this dispute between our kingdoms can be resolved."

"So, I'm just a pawn in some sort of political chess then. Lovely."

"Not necessarily so. You should know that, I wish for someone as my equal- not a half-conscious object to be cherished and praised upon, so here's my offer; I request three months to court you, during which I can involve in acts of... intimacy, and only if and when you find me fit shall we wed and officially be bonded as a couple- basically courting rituals by the book. I will not forced anything onto you, and no strings attached. All I get are three months to attempt to court you, and if you don't like it, then I'll go and you won't hear of me again."

Ant thought it over. It was true that he, too, knew about the unstable relationships of the Aether and of the Nether, and that a marriage between the two Princes of the two separate realms would definitely promise stability and perhaps even peace. As he'd chewed over these thoughts in his own head, Ant suddenly realized that he'd been much too rude to the Nether Prince during their conversation- more so than he would have expected from himself. Ant wasn't really jumping at the idea, but, at least, to accommodate for his rudeness, he'd give the other Prince a chance to court him- he could always just turn the other down if he didn't interest him, anyways.

As Ant looked up, and snow white met coal black, he instantly knew that both of them were thinking of the same thing.

"Our fathers will not approve of this." Ant said, bitterly.

Sparklez's grin just widened.

"Does it look like I care?"

Ant could already tell that it would be a long three months.
