For Once, He Wasn't Lying
A/N: Hi everyone! This is my first fanfic of Doctor Who on here, so I'm not entirely sure how good it's gonna be... It popped up into my head once and I decided to write it down, not sure how well it went, but you guys can be the judges of that. If you want me to continue writing (and I won't be surprised if you don't) then please leave a review and/or suggestion of what you want to see me write about. Okay, Thanks! :)
'Clara, it's me, it's the Doctor here.'
Clara narrowed her eyes into the eyes of the Doctor… or the Cyber-Doctor.
Clara and the Doctor had taken Angie and Artie on a… day trip when the two begged them to see space. When asked of a good place to travel, the Doctor immediately thought of Hedgewick's World of Wonders, the biggest amusement park in the universe. As it turned out, like it always did, Hedgewick's Daytrip was not the best decision. It just so happened that the planet was invested with Cybermen, and at the end of the day, the planner had gotten into the Doctor's head.
What a surprise.
And so the Doctor and Clare were now in a grand room, with him being tied up and switching on and off between himself and the Cyber-Planner, and her staring suspiciously, trying to decide whether to give the Doctor the button with the power to implode the planet.
He jolted in his seat.
'Clara, come on, it's me!' She didn't flinch, but said one thing simply.
'Prove it.'
He leaned back and sighed, exasperated and annoyed. He looked at Clara, and she hadn't blinked.
'Tell me something only the Doctor would know.'
The Doctor sighed, and looked into Clara's eyes. He leaned forward, and lowered his voice.
'Clara…' He paused, 'I suppose… I suppose that I would be the only one who knows how I feel about you right now.' Clara stiffened.
'How funny you are,' she blinked, 'so funny.'
'How pretty…' She began to look surprised, even alarmed a bit.
'And the truth is…' The Doctor paused again. 'I am starting to like you in a way that is more than just –'
SMACK
'Ow, OW!' A jolt went through his body before he looked at Clara again, a new face upon him. But she was already stalking out of the room. She turned back for a moment to look at him and waved the button in the air for him to see.
'Not sure I want to give it to either of yourselves right now, Doctor. I'll be back.'
'But how did you know it was—' He was cut off by the doors slamming shut, leaving him and his confused face alone.
And then the look was gone, replaced by a smirk.
'Telling her some of our feelings for her, are we, Doctor?' He said aloud, grinning evilly.
'Well, no matter anyway, she didn't even believe you anyway.' He moved to take another chess piece from the board, but was jolted for a short, short moment to reveal the furious, shaking face of the Doctor.
'But… But I was telling…. I was telling the truth.' His body was jolted again before he could say anything else, and the grin was back.
'Rule Number One…' He finished taking the chess piece, and set it down heavily.
'The Doctor Lies.'
