Car Ride
Hwoarang watched her from the corner of his eye, making sure to keep half of his attention on the road before him and half on her. The window on her side of the car was rolled down and her pigtails were blowing in the wind. The fighter noticed that the female had a bored expression dancing on her features. He could see her fingers drumming on her thigh in a slow rhythm.
"Having fun?" Hwoarang questioned in an amused tone, already knowing her answer.
Ling Xiaoyu turned her head to look at him, frowning. "What?" She shouted above the wind that blasted into the car from the window as they went along.
"I said, are you having fun?" Hwoarang repeated himself, but a little louder that time.
Xiaoyu gave him a deadpan look. "Does it look like I'm having fun? This is boring and my legs hurt! We've been driving for hours and I feel cramped up in this car!"
"You complain too much!" Hwoarang glanced at her, but quickly put his eyes back on the road, holding the wheel with one hand.
Xiaoyu rolled her eyes and then her eyes scanned the radio in the car. If she wasn't going to get any other sort of entertainment then she might as well listen to some music. The Chinese girl turned on the radio and some kind of heavy metal music blasted through the speakers, causing her face to morph into disdain.
Xiaoyu was about to turn it off, but Hwoarang stopped her, grabbing her hand in his.
"Leave it." He ordered.
"No." Xiaoyu pulled her hand away from his and then rummaged through a bag she had brought. She pulled out a CD with a large grin dancing on her lips.
Hwoarang sighed.
Xiaoyu was glad that she remembered that she had brought a CD with her favorite songs on it. The female popped it into the CD player and an extremely girly song began pounding into Hwoarang's ears. Xiaoyu started dancing about in her seat, appearing a little silly.
"Turn it off…!" Hwoarang snarled, instantly hating the music that entered his ears.
Xiaoyu ignored him and continued dancing in her seat, singing along crookedly to the lyrics the song produced.
Hwoarang watched her from the corner of his eye.
Oh well. He thought. At least she's happy.
