"So you want to know what it's like in my high school? Well, the truth is, there's not a single person in this place worth remembering. See, people here are fake, so they stick to their cliques to hide it. The stoners are medicated, the honor students are afraid, and the jocks well, they're jocks, man. They'll peak at 17, and their cheerleader girlfriends will be fat and lonely by 21. Losers! Everyone here is a loser. And the truth is, ever day I have to come to this school is one less day I have to come back."
Brooke's POV
I was walking with Peyton to class like I always do. We were getting ready to go through the glass doors when Jimmy Edwards pulled out a gun and shot towards the doors. Peyton and I both ducked to dodge the bullet. Someone helped me up and I went down the hallway not knowing if Peyton was behind me.
Peyton's POV
After Jimmy had shot the glass door and it broke I saw someone help Brooke up and she went down the hallway. I was trying to stand up but my left leg collapsed. My lower left leg was in so much pain. I looked down and noticed that I was bleeding. The only thing I could think about was getting somewhere safe. I started crawling towards the library. I ended up sitting behind one of the bookshelves. When I looked at the ground there was a trail of my blood.
Lucas' POV
The bus pulled up to the school to let everyone out. Brooke came over to me crying saying that someone had a gun in the school and they were shooting. Whitey was trying to get everyone on the bus but Nathan started running towards the doors. I was conflicted on what to do because Brooke was still crying but Nathan was headed toward the doors.
Nathan's POV
When I heard Brooke say somebody had a gun in the school I immediately thought about Haley. I took off running towards the doors as fast as I could. Lucas ended up tackling me and telling me not go in. All I could think about was Haley. I kept wondering if she was okay. I needed to find out so I ran into the school with Lucas following me.
Haley's POV
This morning I was in the tutor center getting ready for the day when Principal Turner announced there was a code red. I opened the tutor center door so people could get in because it's one of the safe rooms. After everyone was in I shut the door and locked it. I was panicking because the intruder could be anywhere. At least I know Nathan's okay because he would just be getting to school. I also hope the all of my friends are okay.
Jimmy's POV
This morning before school I stood outside and smoked a cigarette. When I walked inside some jocks had destroyed my locker. I had a flashback to Tric when they started beating me up. That's when I took the gun out of my pocket and shot towards the glass doors. I was then surprised I even pulled the trigger. After the shot I immediately put the gun back in my pocket. When Principal Turner called a code red I want to the tutor center. As soon as everyone was in Haley locked the door and everyone sat against the wall.
