Coping

There are times when I absolutely hate the amount of talking going on around me and I feel like just walking away and being alone, or with one or two others. Unfortunately that doesn't happen in my world, so I'll make it happen here.

"Shikamaru! Clean up your room!"

"Yeah, yeah."

"He'll do that later honey, right now the boy needs to help me with catching those deer that went loose."

"What, now?"

"Yes now."

"He's not going anywhere until that lazy son of yours cleans his room!"

"My lazy son? He's ours Yoshino."

"Well he certainly takes after you in most ways."

She looked at her son. "Speaking of which, your lazy attitude has caused the Hokage to send a letter saying several reports haven't been given back to her from you. I want you to get moving to her now!"

Shikamaru grumbled something under his breath before moving towards the door.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Yeah, son. Where?"

"It had better be to the Hokage, otherwise you get back in her right -"

"I'm going out!" Shikamaru said, irritated.

Shikaku looked at his wife. "What's wrong with him?"

She shrugged and walked off,

Shikaku scratched his head. "Now I have to herd those deer myself. How annoying."

She found him sitting on top of a building, his favourite cloud watching spot.

He laid on a bench, eyes closed.

"So this is where you were, I went to -"

"Temari, be quiet," he said.

She raised an eyebrow and sat on a crate beside him. "What's wrong with you?"

"We live in a world where everything is loud, and where too many things happen at once. It gives me a headache just thinking about it."

She chuckled. "Lazy ass. For someone so smart your doesn't seem to be able to cope with too many things."

"I'm coping, I just cope in a different way to you."

"And how do you cope."

He looked at her. "By finding some peace and quiet."

Or to talk to someone like you.

She smiled. "Sorry, I'll try to shut up for a bit, alright lazy ass?"

Shikamaru smirked, closing his eyes again.

"Thank you."

End.
