Declaimer: I don´t own Magic Kaito. Just the idea

A/N: Hello. This is my first time posting in this fandom, even thought I write a lot stories with Kaito, but they are always related to Shinichi so... This is my first time writing one with only Magic Kaito characters, so here I am.

This was written as an entry for a Poirot Cafe Short Competition. If you don´t know what it is, just write the name and check it out.

Theme: Tears

The deafening screams rebounded through the room, encouraging words from the doctor and nurses all but lost in the pure agony of the moment. It was painful, to see her suffer so much, but he stood still, holding her hand in his as she clenched it strongly, driving strength from his presence.

"You can do it…" He mumbled, knowing there was nothing he could do to help her. Not this time, at least, this was her time to shine. Oh, and she did, even when covered in sweat, even when in pain, there was nothing that could erase the brilliance and love in her indigo eyes. She was so beautiful, so perfect…

"Just a one more push!" The doctor said, his eyes locking with his for a second, before returning to his patient. "On the count of three, okay?" She nodded, holding his hand even tighter, as ragged breathing left her month in rapid successions. She could do it; he knew she was strong enough. She had always been the strongest person he knew…

Suppressing his thoughts, concentrating on nothing more than that moment, the counting finally reached zero, and with a loud cry filled with determination and pain, it finally ended.

The nine month of worry, anticipation and anxiety finally came to a closure as a small being started crying in the hands of the doctors, so small, so fragile… and yet already so precious. Born into the world on 21 June, the little baby cried for a few more seconds as the air circulated his lungs for the first time, the nurse giving him to the tired but excited mother.

"Oh, he is so beautiful…" She mumbled, smiling as the baby stopped crying, resting happily in his mother's warm arms. Around them, there was movement, someone was talking, but he couldn´t hear it, his eyes glued to the little human being that belonged to him now. His little baby, the one he had been expecting for so long… "Do you want to hold him?"

Startled, the man jumped slightly, before nodding frenetically, holding his hands out to take the child. She laughed despite her exhaustion, the remaining nurse did too, but he didn´t care, gently taking the baby into his hands. He had been practicing for months just so he could be ready for whatever his little child needed, and as he held him for the first time, he wished the time could just freeze, lost in that perfect moment.

"Hey little one…" The man mumbled, smiling at his child, at his little miracle. "Daddy´s here. That must have been tiring, right? I bet you just want to sleep now; I know I would want. You know, mommy and daddy have been waiting for you for so long, so don´t sleep for long, okay? We have so much to do together!"

The baby´s small eyelashes moved gently, and before he knew it, the child was looking at him, beautiful indigo eyes staring into his with clear amusement and curiosity.

This was his child. His little boy...

Tears started to run down his face without stop, but he had no intention in stopping them, bringing his child closer to his face. His child, his boy, his baby. Kissing his forehead, the man engraved the date in his heart, vowing to never forget this moment.

In a whisper, he said the words he had been repeating in his mind every time he thought about his future little boy.

"I love you, my little Kaito."
