Wanderlust
By SMYGO4EVA

An imaginary friend
A being created by the human mind
A resemblance of the individual
An entity
In all shapes, sizes and backgrounds
Either made of the past or the present

One gentle friend
Optimistic and courteous
Even to a fault
An eternal smile on his face
His name is Wilt
Cool and collected
Hiding something
A façade for something else
He is searching eternally
Finding the truth
The truth of his own world

Can he come inside?
Can he really walk into a place
And call it his own?
Bittersweet memories
Remembering the rain
Crumbling
Praying that the bygones had vanished
All eye are on him
Mocking him
So he uses the smile to ward off concern
To ward off potential seekers of hate

Wilt
Many names can describe him
Nice
Helpful
Optimist
Sweet
Calm
Almost a happy-go-lucky being
Always smiling
Except when a matter was very serious
Helping those in need
Rather than helping himself
That meant having to look inside himself
See the demons he hid for a long time
The feelings of blame, regret, and shame
A cheerful imagination with a heart of gold
He uses that front to hide from who he really is

Expressions of pain
His inability to say no
Quash his sorrow for the time being
He is trapped, bound, and held
By his own torment
His own guilt because of one mistake
He was damned if he did, but damned if he didn't
What was done was done
Now he wants to be free
Free of the torment placed inside him
After all these years, he would finally wander
Yes, he could be free from the chains
Choking him and denying him of oxygen
He could finally walk down the corridor
Feeling the warmth of the sun's golden rays
His intentions were pure
And they always will be

Wanderlust
The need to travel and wander
It has returned
To feel the fresh air, to be liberated
He can smile and be free from anything
He can see the lovely colors
He can spread his wings
The wings that were bound for too long
That were once broken
They are built again, life begun anew
Wilt
Gentle imagination
Kind friend
Loyal companion
Free
Happy
He can fly now

(The poem is an interpretation of Wilt before, during, and after the events of 'Good Wilt Hunting'. He is one of my favorite characters and I love him )
