"Keep running. Just keep running, don't look back, he'll get you if you look back. He'll catch you and rip out your heart. You've seen what he's done to the others. Run away, run and run fast. Don't let him catch you, not you, you're too young. He shouldn't take you; you've only started to live. I won't let him take you. Now run!"

Small feet hurried along a dark corridor, unlit candelabras threw spidery shadows on the walls, like grotesque fingers reaching out for him. "Keep running." He heard the gentle whisper in the back of his mind, reminding him what he'd lost. There were monsters chasing him, he could hear them pitter-pattering down the corridor behind him, the soft yellow glow of their bulbous eyes lit his back, as he ran. They were getting closer; a small involuntary whimper escaped his trembling lips. A sharper cry followed it as he stumbled, falling to the floor. He tried, desperately to scramble to his feet, but they were upon him. The youngest apprentice looked upon those he helped create, and knew he was wrong.

The last thing Ienzo felt upon this earth was regret.

This just came to me, in the middle of college, and I could do nothing but write it. Which is irritating as I now have to stay behind tomorrow and finish the work I was supposed to do today... But I digress. This is, well it's different. And I'm not so sure about the ending either. It's short too. Hope you enjoy, R&R plz.
